I'm on ampicillin right now for a breast infection and I have been getting alot of the side effects like dizziness being tired pukey feeling and all of that. One weird thing I noticed though was that I have been getting nightmares while on them. Is this normal and has it happened to anyone else? And should I call my doctor about it?

Wow, I just started amoxicillin (very similar drug) and was expecting the usual nausea/mild diarrhea, but I've been up 3-4 times a night with these weird nightmarish "stress dreams". You know, it's not the being-chased-by-zombies nightmare, it's more I'm-stuck-in-a-maze-and-can't-find-the-car-and-the-kids-are-lost type nightmare, LOL. They're enough to keep me up at night.

leenaz,

I do not wish to be an alarmist, however, if your breast infection is in the form of a rash, please get further diagnosis.

My s-i-l had a rash on her breast and it was not an ordinary infection, it was a rare form of cancer.

misty is very right here with what she just told you. there is a newer more rare type of actual inflammatory type of breast cancer that usually will start out with a rish or an actual open wound that wont heal. i would ask your doc about being tested for this(a simple biopsy),just as a big precaution for you. this type of breast cancer usually goes un diagnosed as it seems to just be blown off by less knowldegable docs. you do have the right to know just what is going on with your own breasts. i would actually see at least an OB for this, they are much more better informed of the symptoms of it. this is definitely one of those better safe than sorry types of situations. you just need to know for 100% certain that this is not a form of cancer. i do hope this is just what was Dxed,an infection, but in light of what has been recently found out, it needs further investigation just to be certain. i do hope things are fine. but please keep us posted.
