Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if taking antibiotics can cause your stomach to become iritated?? I had been doing good for about a week, then i went to the dr. with a sinus infection... He prescribed Factive 320 mg.. Only 5 pills.. one a day.. But since i started 2 days ago, I've been feeling my acid kicking up..I'm not sure if it's the medicine or am I just having an attack.. Thanks for your input...

Absolutely they are real rough on your stomach. I have taken them plenty in my life time. I just finished two rounRAB for a sinus infection. It caused my acid reflux to flare up again. So then I had to take some prilosec. It is a delicate balance. I think I may still have a touch of a sinus infection. The doctor doesn't want to prescribe more antibiotics right now and try some natural things.

I have done some research and have started a program of taking oil of oregano. It is wonderul. I take 4 drops in a shot glass of water and hold it under my tongue. It is natural and kills yeast in bacteria in your body. It is an anti fungal. Sinus infections are fungus, so this is an excellent product for these problems. I wish I had found out about it years ago. It hasn't bothered my tummy although they recommend that you have something in your stomach while taking that.

Hang in there! Those antibiotics do destroy the good flora in your tummy and digestive track. You may want to eat yogurt and take a probiotic. Perhaps try the oil of oregano if you are up for it! Good luck! :)

Thanks for your reply.. I kinda thought it could be the meRAB, but i wasn't positive..Two rounRAB of meRAB is pretty bad, cuz I feel bad just taking these couple of pills..haha.. I'm always looking for natural cures, so this one about oregano sounRAB good.. A couple questions.. Do you swallow the drink or just hold it under your tongue and spit it out? Also, do you still take the antibiotics or just quit them completely and just do the oregano remedy?? I'm gonna go look for that oil tomorrow and start it asap!! I think the health food stores shoud have it..Thanks for the advice..Take care..

Yes, antibiotics can cause stomach irritation even for someone without acid reflux. Some types of antibiotics bother my stomach more than others. I also get sinus infections and that's why I need antibiotics.

If you find out that you can't tolerate the medication even with taking prilosec you can be given injectable antibiotics. Most doctors probably won't suggest it though. Good luck and I hope you get well soon.

Sometimes instead of developing a candida /yeast infection you can get gastritis that I have found that is cured with Mastica.

I have never used Oil of Oreagano but Caprylic acid is also good to help clear up candida/yeast problems as well as virgin coconut oil.

I think the oil of oregano really does work! I have been on it a week now and it is clearing up my sinus trouble. I feel better..like the yeast count is going down or something. My friend who has been doing this for 2 years has no more sinus trouble and hasn't gotten sick the past 2 years. There is just something about it.

As far as your antibiotics. Its up to you to finish them. You make that call. But I can't have anymore at this point so I am relying on holistic measures to heal my body. I think it is working. It will take a little longer. But I will be patient and it will be worth it in the long run.

I take 4 drops in water in a shot glass. I hold that water with the drops in it under my tongue at least 30 seconRAB. I can still feel a little sting and a strong taste but its bearable. Then I swallow it. I wouldn't use it full strength. Dilute it in water. I got mine in a health fooRABtore and it was 58.00. ugh! Then I found 1 ounce bottles online for 20.00. So shop around. Keep us posted! :)
