Why doesn't the government but a ban on smoking people are dieing very day(200,000 from tobacco) so why does the government let go.

Because once the government starts dictating what behaviors we can (or can't) do that hurt no one but ourselves, where do you draw the line? NOT everyone dies from smoking... just many. How about eating fatty foods or sugar or alcohol or not exercising or watching too much TV.... ?

Too much $$$ involved. If tobacco was banned, do you realize how many tax $$$ would be lost? Also where would the thousand upon thousand workers & farmers get $$$ from.
Same as drugs. Do you really think the US wants a real "war on Drugs"? Miami was BUILT on pot & coke.

The government's answer to this was to limit the amount of settlements when persons sued the cigarette companies and instead began a social campaign to explain the harmful effects while providing limited information related to the social context smoking has had over the years.

This is specifically against the Constitution in every way.
Technically ALL drug bans are against the Constitution it was written specifically on individual liberty.
it is also Unconstitutional to tell a business owner what can and cannot happen in his Establishment.
And that 200,000 from tobacco a day is a lie there are alot of consideration they do not take into account. I am not saying no one dies from tobacco use, however they count every case of lung disease as a tobacco related death. Just because someone was around a smoker when they were 12 doesn't mean they got lung cancer from them.

Because this is supposed to be a free country. Do you think the government should only allow people so much gas for there car because it is in short supply. Keep your socialist ideas to yourself. By the way I am not a smoker.

People get skin cancer from tanning beds. Why isn't the gov't going after them? In the end, its a person's own choice what they do with their bodies.
