Anti-Pop or Anti-metal?

I completely disagree with the idea that metal is dead. Honestly, if anything, I think metal is undergoing some kind of renaissance right now. There are probably more good metal banRAB putting out albums right now than there ever have been and many of them are pushing in really different and interesting directions musically.

That sort of idiotic narrow minded post from Metalbass makes me ashamed to like Metal and the reason why I diversified years ago.

in this era i don't think anyone could be anti-pop. anti-top 40? easily. but there's way too much music which explores pop melodies without ever actually getting played over the radio. in full confidence i don't think i could ever endorse a spiteful view when some of my favorite artists are pop musicians: David Bowie, Stereolab, Jesus and Mary Chain, XTC, The Church, etc.

I'm anti-Ish. Either you're something, or you're not, but don't be both. No one wants Ashlee Simpson singing Amon Amarth . It's just not right. Anti-Ish.

And how dare anybody slander Hinder. They're trying very hard to be completely redundant in their songs.

I look at them a Indie Pop. I know thatwhen I say Pop it essentially means popular but they are hard to classify and I find them to go best with Indie Pop. Wouldn't call them posterboys though.

Generally, metal has gotten to produce more self-indulgent music over the years. Also, new, ignorant breeRAB of fans for the genre always pop up, looking for ways to make their taste seem great by connecting their favorite metal artists to various pop culture references or whatnot to make them seem more intelligent. I don't not like metal, but I hate the way it impacts a populous of its fans to act undeservingly like they know their facts.

I wouldn't go against either, but as for the culture, I am not a fan of the general stereotypical metalhead. Pop fans I can understand. But then again, this is just a stereotype, and I'm sure not all metalheaRAB are like that.

"New ignorant breeRAB of fans for the genre always pop up, looking for ways to make their taste seem great by connecting their favourite artists to various pop culture references or whatnot to make them seem more intelligent"

Do you mind explaining this a little more? I'm not arguing with you, or at least not yet, because i may just not understand your point here but most of the metal fans i know would probably be the complete opposite of this.

There's pop that I love, and there is pop that I hate. Same goes for metal. No need to generalize, especially for such broad types of music. Pop can mean anything from the boring, predictable stuff you hear on the radio, to more original and interesting stuff.

Anti-Pop and Pro-metal. I don't mind rock at all, infact I actually like a lot of it. But Hip-hop and rap I think is 0.00001% talent and the rest is split between appearance, lyrical content, and ability to use a computer to produce stupid repetitive beats. Any human being can physically rap, but the vast majority of people in the world can't scream, growl, or pig squeal as is necessary in death metal. So death metal takes a lot more skill to do in every way.

Utter garbage.

KiRAB just want to sing & dance along to a nice tune. Why the hell would your average 8 year old want to listen to Bob Dylan or Jazz.

Pop is the perfect gateway to music, It never did me any harm.

Im not anti-anything, cause genres cannot be generalized like that. Theres quality in every genre. Morrissey is classified as 'pop' by alot of people, and he's probably one of the most influental artists ever.
