I highly suggest the Discogram-hurts like hell but it saved me from huge problems. I had two prior laminactomys on L5S1-L4L5. I still had major problems.. back legs etc... went to The Hospital for special ser in NY they highly recommended A Discogram. Well.. end result was that not only L4L5 L5 S1 was a problem L3L4 was worse. I did not opt for the 3 level fusion the hospital said it would be a big probelm in the future because it would evenually put some much strain on the L2L3 that it would eventually give. Plus I would have no mobility at all I am only 41 as well. On Jan 8th 2009 I had a two level fusion L4L5 L5S1 and a Disc replacement at L3L4. They beleive that I will have much more mobility and DDD will not continue up my spine. I have to say I feel pretty good only two months post op. It is still considered exploratory by insurance companies so it cost me a little out of packet but so far well woth it!!!
