For someone on NSAID therapy (ibuprofen 3200mg/day for leg & foot pain), is it better to take an H2 antagonist or a PPI? My dr has me on Ranitidine 150mg twice daily but I am having severe throat pain that has been around for at least a month now. Should I add in some antacids? Or add in a PPI? Or completely switch to a PPI? Thoughts? Obviously I could/should re-visit my doctor for analysis, but I'm uninsured.
Aaron Emmel - Thank you. That's what I was thinking. Like maybe the H2 has run its course as far as protection? I do know I should see a doctor and possibly even a GI specialist to investigate any real damage, but funds are limited. If only we could get that socialist health care.
