Another Sprained Ankle question

I'm 57. Last week I sprained my ankle...a grade 2 sprain. The swelling is slowly going away. However, my achellies tendon, the tendons on the top of my foot as well as the ones on the outside are still extremely sore. Is this normal?

Also, the last two nights, my foot has (especially the toes) have been so sore while sleeping that the only thing that helps is to get up 4-5 times a night and run cold water on my foot. Again, is this normal?

I can walk on my sprained foot although it is tender. It is extremely sore whn I first get up and I can hardly walk on it for the first couple of minutes.

Unfortunately I don't have any money so can't go to the doctor...no insurance either.

Thanks for any suggestions/info.

Have you taken any naproxen to help with the swelling and the pain? that should give you some relief. Also I would keep it elevated to help keep the swelling down. Stay off of it if you can to give it a chance to heal.

I would think that it's normal for the extra soreness in the morning as you haven't been on the foot overnight.

Rest is the best for it to heal though.
