ANOTHER MILITARY QUESTION!!! AFR?

Ok, I've met with my recruiter to choose jobs today. I went prepared. I researched the website and it said that my duty station has an immediate need for the mos i want; "Aerospace medical service apprentice" and it also has a bonus. When i asked him about it, he said that the website lied.

So basically, he had me sign something that states i am holding out for that particular position.. (I also chose positions in personnel)..

My question is... Is my recruiter lying or is the website lying? Im confused as to why the website would falsely advertise that info.


PLEASE HELP!
I thought I should add that I QUALIFY for the positon and I also have not yet enlisted.
Sorry.. I'm referring to air force reserve.
 
If that's what you want, then don't agree to something else. Also, you failed to mention if you were guard or active duty. I'm going to assume that when you say duty station, that you are guard or reserve. It may be possible that your unit no longer has an opening, or that your recruiter is under the wrong impression of what's available.
 
Recruiters normally know what they are talking about, however, some will screw you! They screwed a friend of mine, he qualified for MI and he got stuck in FA
 
Bonuses are something that are offered and taken away depending on the need for financial inducement to get people to pick that job over others because the military has a sudden need. They will suspend a bonus once that service has met its manning and strength requirements for that job and that is probably what has happened. The web site has not been updated possibly and is still carrying the information about it is my guess. I would go ahead and do some checking online and see if there is anything out there about suspending that bonus that has been published. If not and you find the bonus is still being offered then let your recruiter know and have him write up the contract to include it.
 
Yes, he is more than likely lying. Imagine this scenario: you are at a park and there is a group of 6 year olds. You need something to drink and they all have beverages. Would it be that hard for you to manipulate a free beverage out of them? The answer is no. The recruiter is in the same boat, only you are the 6 year old. Trust me when I tell you that he will do whatever it takes to get you into the military. If that involves the old "bait and switch", then that is what he will do.
