There was a movie Godzilla I happened to pick up a few years back: I think it was, Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Monsters giant out of every attack, and was the best, meanest, and was seen at any time before Godzilla rubber for me. The distance shots and very realistic, close-up, and pupilless, glowing eyes has been very effective in the transfer of a large group of monstrousness in all his glory. Best of all, but there was an underwater scene where Godzilla was CGI'd swimming. When I saw it I thought, this is the way it should be done.
