Another Classic Being Remade: Hellraiser

Wtf is it with the film industry these days? Am I the only one who thinks these remakes are getting out of hand?
Someone please tell me what is the point of remaking Hellraiser? The original is as close to horror perfection as they come, what's a 2009 remake going to add?
Pissing Hollywood, my blood is boiling with these lazy unoriginal dimwits

No! Why can't they just leave the originals alone! I totally agree that the original Hellraiser is a fantastic piece of horror writing and I dread to think what bloody Hollywood will do to it.

Write some new, original material RAB...

I rarely enjoy remakes. However, the number of remakes are still pretty small in comparison to the number of movies made every year. But I do fail to see the point in a lot of them.

The original was spoilt by fake/dubbed US voices (apart from A. Robinson) and trying to make out that it was set in the US when it was clearly in the UK. What new shambles can be on the carRAB in a remake?

The Hellraiser remake has been on the carRAB for a couple of years, but as far as I know it is still in development hell.

In many ways, the original is not really a horror classic, the book is though. But it is a very entertaining, ambitious horror movie that was a kick up the backside for the increasingly stale horror scene in 1987.I personally wouldn't mind to see it reimagined.

The bad news is that Dimension are making it.This is the studio that created the awful Hellraiser 4 and Halloween 6,so I don't hold much hope for it.It was looking promising when Bustillo and Maury were writing it,but they got removed from the job.
