I am new to the forum and so glad I found this. I have had an achy pain in my hip for at least a year and has progressivly gotten worse with nerve pain going down the back of my legs. I went to the DR. and got an MRI and I have an annular tear at L5 S1 and arthrits in my low back and hips. The Dr. said the the hip pain was from the tear causing nearve issues. I had an ESI last wed. and was in so much pain for about 6 days. The nerve pain has never gone away and is sooo bad today. It is so hard to dercribe, it is a deep achy pain that is constant some times worse than other times. I feel liike I am going crazy. Sometimes by the end of the day I am just worn out from all the pain. I have tried tramadol and vicoden, the tramadol did nothing and the vicoden just barly took the edge off. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments?

I am so glad I found this site!!

Welcome. I remeraber being really glad to find this sight too. It made me feel somewhat sane. I am always erabarassed when I go to any MD about this because I can't totally describe it the way I think they need to hear it. Deep achy pain, constantly nagging is exactly what it is but when I describe it to an MD it just sounRAB so lame. I wish I could just point to a single spot and say here it is! Then, I ask for drugs and feel so guilty or like a whiner. I believe your pain and I know you feel insane because I have EXACTLY the same thing. I had a microdiscetomy in Jan for my L5 S1 tear. It has helped only a little. Still have pain in hip. I am on Celebrex, Lyrica, Soma, and Lortab. I think I have built up a tolerance to pain meRAB so they are not really working that great. Anyway, you are NOT crazy. I feel so bad for my family because I can't wait to get on my bed every chance I get because I am either in pain or exhausted from it. Keep being your own advocate and make sure you have an MD that will listen. Ask for Lyrica for the nerve pain and Celebrex for the arthritis pain. It may help a LOT. Hang in there.

Thanks so much for your response!! I am on londine for the arthritis but honestly I don't notice much difference. It is so hard having constant pain because sometimse by the end of the day I just have nothing left to give and if I am having a really painful day it is all I can do to get my kiRAB fed and to bed and then I feel guilty!
