Earlyier this year I activated a 7750 on verizons ez pay fifty with a data connection they gave me a hard time but after geting a third party to activate the hand set I then went to vzw's website set up an address and sent my self the service books three times to get a browser and provisioning the device neted me six months of unlimited service altho vzw did not support it it worked untill they did an audit but none the less a data connection can be hacked if you persist. I BELIEVE YOU! I bought a roger sim card off ebay last summer. Stated that the sim card is used for internet access only, unlimited downloads of music... called the "Magic Sim". It worked for quite a while and later on it stoped working. Voice calls where never possible. It made it possible to access the phone... so you wont get the "INSERT SIM" when you dont have a sim card.
 
what rogers gauges people for each month should be illegal.
i look at it like the illegal cigarettes they sell in canada. every so often the problem gets bad enough and the gov't sees its losing $$$ prices come down again.

maybe if enough people can circumvent rogers and there rediculous prices for a while they will get the picture.
 
These cards are called ghost chips. They are made by someone within the company, scence the company has millions of accounts, it is hard sometimes to track. I highly doubt the sims are canadian, as there are a much fewer customers and such thing is easier to catch. There fore most come from US and are on the roaming, after a while the person or a buisness compaion who sold the card for you turns it off so you have to buy another one, the reason it sometimes turns of faster is that due to bandwith amount the company checks the acount and realizing it is fraud turns it off, wich is the cause of early termination. I was actually looking for one of these bad boys to test out, they usually retail from anywhere 150-200. And by the way it is extreemly illigal, it goes towards fraud so it is a criminal charge, but thank god to interent there are slim chancer of you getting caught, so enjoy untill it lasts, but if you have SWAT team rush you dont be surprised.
