I totally forgot that I started this thread!

My friend and I were discussing this movie the other day and she said that she thought in real life Diana would be jealous of Anne. I said, "no way"! What do you guys think?

The first two were made in the 80's, very funny ones, you have to rent them :D
Moran's an old guy who asked Anne to marry he but she said no ;) thank goodness

OMG I'm back..my mum and I used to watch this as a TV special everytime they ran it.

The art is soooo pretty!

The films were amazing. I really feel they could not have done a better job. Did any of you watch the Avonlea series? One of my favorite tv series ever.

And, here we go...

I think that's the end of the article. I tore it out of the magazine, so I'm not absolutely sure if I tore too soon. This was the only one truly informative piece in the magazine because there were so few interviews. The Avonlea Chronicles was, after all, just an Anne club. I have just a few more pages on cast descriptions that were close to impossible to find, at the time, on the lead actors, but, hubby wants me to put that away in a little baby site so he can lassoo all my little knick knacks together into his Notebook for our old age as a "so, this is what you used to like." reference and such. He obviously anticipate a questionable memory for this one. :embarrassment:

Note: not intended to promote The Notebook. But, most definitely... Anne of Green Gables.

Anne of Green Gables rocks!! :D
I loved all 3 the movies, I've watched them all tons of times..they are such feel good movies and I am actually looking for them on dvd..I just have to have them! They never get shown on tv anymore..
I agree that the 3rd one was probably the weakest, but I'm glad they made it..It was nice to see how Anne grew up.. :)

I never knew there were films of AoGG. Can I just ask when they were made? And whos Morgan? I've read the first 2 books, but when does Gilbert propose?

Of course Gil was her soulmate but she had to take a while to realise that. Yeah he was too old for her but obviously, to torture us, they couldn't get Gil and Anne together straight away. I quite enjoyed the Morgan character. He was MUCH better than the guy in the third film (Jack?).

Oh, wonderful. I'll go take a looksee. I may have this mad need to create a Josie Pye/Moody Spurgeon couples thread. Just for fun. ;) ...and, to keep the Anne thoughts going. :D But, I will restrain myself. :D

*embarrassed*
Horrifyingly slow I am. Children and science camp school field trip you know. Teenie car accident. Stress. But, I will transcribe Gilbert Blythe now...

...and ignore the boo boo on the car.
"Backing up is so hard to do." - The Carpenters?

Yes all three of the AOGG are out on DVD. You could probably find them on amazon. And I agree with you about Gilbert, he was the first guy I ever crushed on ever. And I never could understand how Anne could be so stupid not to see how amazing he was.

I LOVE Anne of Green Gables!

I have watched it so many times and I never get tired of it, even with it beign so long. It is such a classic! I have Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea on tape but I'm hoping to get them on DVD soon.
