Ann Bancroft has passed away

It has just been reported on Fox News that the actress Ann Bancroft has passed away at the age of 73.

It will make watching the recent showing of the Graduate all the more poignant

Was just about to post something myself - I'm really shocked. She was a brilliant actress.

Mrs Robinson may have overshadowed all that she did, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. In the worRAB of a million critics "she made the role her own".

That is sad news. 73 is no great age these days for a woman. I read that she has died from uterine cancer.

My sympathy goes to Mel Brooks and the family.

RIP Anne, you brought a great deal of fun and pleasure to the world.

A big loss to the film world and more importantly her family.

I'll always remember her in '84 Charing Cross Road'
