Ankle surgery, plate, pins

[/B]Hi, I broke my ankle and dislocated it on 9/8/10, had surgery to repair it on 9/17/10, and have been in a partial cast/wrap since. I started to go to PT, but because I have no insurance, opted to do home PT and go for occasional evaluations. I had my stitches removed a week ago, and have been trying to get more movement in the ankle, but it feels so very stiff and I also have burning, nervy kind of feeling, which is better, but still there on the top of my foot and top of my last three toes. It also swells on top of the foot. I am getting very discouraged, and also depressed because it is very unlikely I can go back to my job as standing is pretty much a requirement most of the day. I also have fears and am undecided on having the long screw removed, I have read so many different views, on not having it removed, that many times it makes no difference, and I really don't want to go through another procedure. I just want to get some ability to walk again, but have no great need for more than just mobility. I plan on exercise that requires little or no impact on my feet. I am 52, and this was the worst injury I ever had. I live alone, and it has been so hard having to find people to take me everywhere, and do things for me all the time. I am used to being independent and this has been a lot to adjust to. Please advise.
