Animes you would like remade in the west

This is a thread reply to my other thread about anime remakes of western cartoons.

I thought it was only fair that I do the reverse. Also quite a coesidence, one of the west remakes of a anime Spead Racer: The Next Generation debuts tonight on Nicktoons Network.

As for animes I like to see remake as North American cartoon, I don't know. Just started to this thread to be fair to both anime and the west.

If there had to be one on my list, it would be Sailor Moon. Though if the English dub is any indication, doesn't look good. Hopefully it would be more like the original version.

Lets take an anime and do what they did to Powerpuff Girls. You know...completely change it. I'm sure anime fans would demand that heads roll for something like that. But of course it's not okay to dislike Powerpuff Girls Z on the same grounds. LOL :D

Pokemon would be fun in a more westernized, Looney Tunes style, I guess.

I really think that a modernized westen attempt at Dragon Ball would be an interesting endeavor, maybe the Avatar crew could come up with an idea on how to do it.

Well, the crew behind the Pok?mon anime often do a more humorous approach on the show with their mini-movies that play before the annual Pok?mon feature (like how the Looney Tunes shorts played before movies back in the day). The mini-movie that probably comes closest to Looney Tunes style is "Gotta Dance" (which is the sixth one), since it has a big emphasis on slapstick humor. It's my personal favorite; I can't help but laugh every time I watch it. ^^

Why did they keep repeating Sailor Moon? Why did she transform into a cartoon character? Why did it have to be a cartoon world where the baddies lived? What was up with the dancing? I wonder if Yoshiro Togashi's wife knew what they were doing to her work?

Now that I got that out of my system... I would like to see what happens if an American decides to remake DBZ. Sure the movie is coming out, but that mostly Dragon Ball minus the Z since it takes place in Goku's teen years.

I also would like to see what America would do to Naruto. Just to see rabid fanboys angry that Naruto is more annoying in live action than animated.

And a pretty good job, I might add.

Kind of reminds me of another attempt to make an americanized remake of an anime called Doozy Bots. I'm pretty many of you have already heard of it, but it was a revision of the SD Gundam series filled with common highschool stereotypical characters. Ironically, like one of the characters in "Saban" Moon, it also had a wheelchair bound main character.

PaRappa the Rapper. In the vein of Class of 3000 or whatever. Maybe this time it'd actually have rap, unlike the show Japan made.

Also, maybe One Piece done in a more serious tone, like Pirates of Dark Water/Pirates of the Caribbean, or something.

One anime I'd really like to see remade in America is Master Keaton. It was a great show about a half-English/half-Japanese Indiana Jones who travels the world making discoveries, solving mysteries, and taking down criminals. It doesn't have much of an appeal with the typical anime crowd, but I think it would have a better life on American television.

An anime I'd see remade, regardless of the country responsible, is Wings of Honneamise. It's such a hidden gem of anime with some of the most gorgeous visuals for late 80's animation, not to mention it has an incredibly well-written story about space, technology, religion, politics, war, and love.
