Anime you wished had another chance?

kinnikuman nisei.

If only 4kiRAB never tough it; it would of last to the very end.

And yes, Dragonball GT.

Hey, get some good to work in that show, and we might have something decent.

NG Knight Lamune & 40: Yeah, I'm probably the only one here that heard of this one. Anyway, I loved the original series, but the sequel OVAs crashed and burned hard, and the second TV series managed to remove a good portion of the fun out of the original. So why not just start over and give the show a TTGL-esque makeover?

I agree with this one. On paper, I thought GT sounded like a much better ending than the Buu saga, but the execution left much to be desired.

I kinda wish they'd make a second season of Pumpkin Scissors. The anime was great, but the ending felt out of place and lackluster. Maybe when more of the manga is out it can have a second season or series. I can only hope.

I definitely agree with people about Rurouni Kenshin. Instead of going out with a bang, it went out with a slow season of boring fillers before getting canceled. I would really like the see the Revenge arc from the manga finally get animated (and no, I don't count the Reflection OVAs as a real, or even acceptable, adaptation of that arc).

Another anime that deserves another chance, IMO, is Great Teacher Onizuka. It was doing great until its very rushed and abrupt 2-episode ending, which was also kind of questionable, seeing as how everyone seemed to be far too accepting of an immoral relationship between a teacher and his student. Something like that just doesnt' fit the theme of GTO, IMO. The manga continues on for much longer, though, of course, and I would really love to see the rest of the manga's story line in animated form. I especially love how much more intense and satisfying the manga's ending feels in comparison to the anime's.

Sonic OVA should of gotten more episodes. The animation & music are great. I'll agree, the dub is bad; but its good bad.
I just love the style and color in that OVA.

Ahh, the 90's!

I really don't see Dragonball Kai as a new series. I see it as a, "Re-Boot-Kinda".

Its nothing new but removing, recoloring, reanimated, re-theme and redone. But, its not really a new series. Everyone pretty much knows how the story goes.

Now, if we have a new Dragonball series. Lets take it to the next level, Dragonball AF.
Just throw every crazy fan's idea that ever been made, and make it into a 25 ep's.

But, if you want to do it right, go back to the old Dragonball style way.

+5 on that
the last 2 episodes of GTO were in a word pathetic
especially after all that happened and that would happen in the GTO franchise =/
they really need to forget the whole end and start back from mayu and finish the entire story
and even incorporate elements of the live action drama for fanservice..

though considering GTO still is prolific even 10 years after it premiered...it definitely neeRAB a complete story

I heartily support this. It'd be nice to kinda restart from the beginning - give it the whole Dragonball Kai / FMA Brotherhood treatment. Cut the fillers and cover all the arcs properly without any long, drawn out build up.

You are my sunshine for suggesting this.

Another series that I'd love to see revamped would be Ranma

Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2... They should totally scrap it and start anew.

I'd like them to Re-do Ranma... because personally I found the animation very mediocre and sloppy... (Even at the time it was produced.)

The sad thing, though, is that apparently a lot of people must have accepted the anime's ending. Because, there is no way for them to animate the rest of the manga's story as a continuation of where the anime left off, simply because the ending that they made-up would completely conflict with the rest of the manga's story line. They could choose to ignore it, but people who haven't read the manga would then be lost and confused as hell as to how Onizuka would be back to teaching after being chased out of Japan by the cops. The only other way to animate the rest of the manga would be to start the series from scratch, either through new animation, or using the old animated episodes up to episode 41, and then contiuing on from there with new animation (completely skipping/ignoring the non-canon ending).

Personally, I wouldn't mind if an animation studio went by the 2nd option, but either way, the anime's ending really seems to have screwed up any real chances for the rest of the series to be properly animated. That's really a shame, because the Mayu, Rescue Urumi, and Teshigawara arcs are some big highlights of the series, for me. Not to mention thatthe last arc senRAB the series out with a bang, itself, IMO.

But, still, even with the anime's abrupt ending, I still love the enjoyment that the first 41 episodes of it brought to me, and even those alone are still good enough to make GTO one of my favorite anime.

Blood +. I could never get into the show because I dispise Blood the Last Vampire. I know that the two are not that much alike, like alternate realities or something. Problem is that does not matter to me, and it just made it impossible for me to give Blood + a fair chance.

Actually it would have been cancelled sooner if not for 4kiRAB. They ordered a second season afer it already failed badly in Japan.

I agree. If Slayers was able to make a comeback with Revolution and Evolution-R, Lost Universe should make a comeback too.

I also think that Samurai Pizza Cats should have a new anime. It was such good but underrated anime.

Bio-Booster Armor Guyver. It'd be great if they took what the manga has gotten so far and just gone the FMA the First route and go original to end it, since the manga's not likely to be finished any time this decade, or even possibly the next.

I'm gonna go with GetBackers. It either neeRAB another season or an ova to conclude the anime's plot. Hell, they could go the tsubasa way and pretend that most of the second season didn't happen and continue following the manga's plot.

well ideally similar circumstances will result in the GTO shonan days in which
in the first chapter he is being hunted down by the police and can essentially never return to shonan

plus its been 10 years...I think most have finally read the manga just to see how it differed from the anime...and in that I can definitely see OVAs being produced to finish the material...especially the rescue urumi and teshigawara (he still can't get his name right!) arcs which in my opinion were some of the best manga stories I have ever read.

It can happen question is will it? Doubtful but this is one anime that neeRAB to finish up...like bad =/

And yes steven j. blum is onizuka
