Anime you think should be remade.

Many anime right now are being given "second chances" to stay true to the manga that they got too close to. What are some you think should be givent hsi chance now and in the future?

Now:

Kenshin : Obvious choice is obvious. Kytot arc will seem like a big repeat, but the anime first season has a lot more filler than the manga's first arc, and will seem a lot shorter.

Trigun: The manga storyline could easily be used for a new 26 episode series.

Future:

Gundam seed/ Destiny : IN a way, these have already been "redone" several time,s but I honestly do think there is a great story buried deep within a lot of the plodding and slow, overcomplicated scenes there.

Plus, the fact that the head writer was both the director's wife AND suffering from cancer while writing the show definitely makes me want to see this show/s redone properly.

Pokemon
Scrap this continuity and make something like Adventure, which is awesome.

Powerpuff Girls Z
Make it feel more like the original and it would be a lot better.

Sonic X
Can I has SatAM continuation now, plz?

Bleach
Bleach fell flat on it's face trying to replicate every moment of a comic book and the jokes and action made no sense in a world with motion and sound. Give it another try and actually do something beyond using the comic as a storyboard and producing lackluster filler.

I'd be interested in seeing a fresh Space Battleship Yamato series. There's already a fresh movie coming, in fact, titled Yamato: Rebirth. It takes place 17 years after the last Yamato movie that was made.

This comes with a caveat, though. Unfortunately, Leiji Matsumoto and Yoshinobu Nishizaki are at odRAB and will never work together on Yamato again. The two had a legal fight over the copyrights and eventually settled, with the copyright being awarded to Nishizaki in 2002. As far as I can tell the issue wasn't exactly a simple call, since Nishizaki first conceived Yamato whereas Matsumoto's ideas apparently refined it to a significant extent. From what I understand, Yamato wouldn't be the Yamato that exists without Matsumoto. Yamato: Rebirth is entirely Nishizaki's baby, whereas supposedly Matsumoto has also been planning a series directed by him.

So the end result is what might be two different continuities, which would just be annoying. I can see the arguments over what the "real Yamato" is forming already. The one way around it would be if the new series is an updated retelling of the original story, but I have no idea if that's what will happen. I don't think we even know if Matsumoto's series will ultimately be made when all's said and done. It's being developed I guess, but it's not in production yet.

Ah well. I should probably worry about watching the canon that exists before I worry about the future.....

Rave Master: Make it with bettr animation & Characterization & in there.

Ruroni Kenshin: although I love this series, it really does need a Re-make One that does the whole manga...so on the last ep we can see lil Kenny! (& no don't start on th OVA's Those arn't continuity & they have a Horribly sad ending!)

& I too would like to see another Sonic anime, preferbly an OVA series based on the Rush Games!

Dragon Ball. All of it. I don't mean like Kai. That's a lame cash-in designed to serve the same purpose but to cut back on costs. Also I don't like it. I think it's lazy.

I want a reanimated series with a consistent art style, no filler, and coverage from the Pilaf to Buu arc with the updated ending. Also I want it in HD, 16:9, 5.1 Surround sound Japanese, and a faithful English dub with an updated cast.

Everything else... I'm good.

Negima!: Magister Negi Magi
This series got the crap beat out of it. With two barely recognizable anime adaptations, one horrid live-action and one remake manga.
They have 31+ characters, and can't seem to do right them or Ken. The mangaka laid the whole thing out... why can they not follow it?

At least the OVAs kept the mood of the original source... somewhat, and they were enjoyable. I liked the series, mostly because of the casting (on both tracks -though I am picky). The Eng dub VAs for Negima!? really shine.

GANTZ
Okay, I am sure ppl have read about how much I detest the anime.

Chobits
Even though the manga laid it on a little thick about "oooh poor persocoms *sniffle*". The anime was pretty much about "Chii being cute today, and then the next day and the next day". It was bacsically "magical girl friend" formula.
With CLAMP being an all women team, they were at least able to bump the trend a bit when it came to the manga.

Kaikan Phrase
With how many musical pieces that are in anime now, and the fact that some companies are using Rotoscope or CG to animate such parts, I think Kaikan neeRAB a serious update.

THIS. I haven't read what you've said about it, but it's pretty obvious that it was a very easily detestable adaptation. In most cases where an anime ended before the manga it was based on, I would suggest a second season, but in the case of Gantz, it neeRAB a full reboot. Have Mynd Hed direct it while you're at it. He obviously knows and cares about the manga more than any of the staff of the anime.

I would like to see a Rave Master series closer to the manga. While I haven't read that much, I've heard some great things about it, especially the later half of the manga. It would be fun to see a faithful adaptation.

While I do love Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, despite not seeing season four, I wouldn't mind if they eventually made a series based on its manga since it's improves on everything I hoped that the series would over time. Plus, I like how everyone has better personalities and/or better decks than their anime counterparts.

To add to this, have the people who worked on MAR do the animation for the show this time around since their work actually LOOKS like Noboyuki Anzai's designs and not a poor man's YYH rip-off.

O-chan

Code Geass R2, as has been said countless times, neeRAB a reboot with the original plans for it actually playing out. The general ending might still be the same, but I have a feeling the journey to that would be so much more rewarding (and this coming from someone who still enjoyed R2 as is).

The Soul Eater manga has only gotten better since the anime departed from it. And with the way the anime's ending totally didn't take itself seriously... well, I'd love to see an adaptation of current events.

Perhaps not a redo, but I'd like to see continuations of Fruits Basket, Ouran High School Host Club, and Vampire Knight. The latter two are still running and there are so many moments I'd love to see animated. Ouran, while having a satisfying ending as is, just continues to be a wonderful story with wonderful characters and
Honey and Mori actually graduated...
among other things. Vampire Knight rushed the Rido arc, which was still running at the time the anime ended, so lots of good stuff was never animated. And Fruits Basket is done, but that's been elaborated on many times before.

I'm feeling too lazy to come up with a list of series on my own right now, but I do agree with this...on all counts in fact.

Expecting a full length remake is probably a bit unreasonable at this point, though stranger things have happened, but perhaps some of those original plans could be recycled for a movie or OVA, for example, at least given some amount of leeway.

Shin Chan - If it wants to be dubbed correctly, stick to the original plot (that means no more political, celebrity, or any jokes that relates to an event (such as 9/11). In fact, no more of those 3 letter G-word jokes).

His and Hers Circumstances: The ending to the existing anime is a jurabled mess that enRAB on a cliffhanger. Since it ended over 10 years ago, a total remake would be more successful than a continuation where the first anime left off.

Well, whoever said Gantz, YES, the mangas has so much more material now, theres plenty of material to work with to make an awesome anime with none of the filler that the old one had.

The same goes for Trigun, id love to see Trigun Maximum the anime!!

Dragon Ball Z. While I loved a lot of the sagas, I feel they shouldn't have litsend to the Goku fan boys and just ended it the way they wanted it to. Just imagine, Gohan defeating Buu with a spirit bom, I feel it would have been so much better. To whoever said Yugioh GX I agree with, it could be done the way the magna did it. It was much better than the anime, no offense to people who liked it though.
