Anime that need redubs

lol Hey there. (Uh...which forum do I know you from? Sorry, a bit of a memory lapse. )

Yeah, from what I read on Dogasu's comparison for the first movie, 4KiRAB was given the master copy of the movie that had the CGI effects, instead of the non-CGI one that was before it.

That's new, first time ever reading someone wants to change a japanese dub. I'm being honest here, never read that before.

^^This

As well as a lot of Viz anime that didn't get uncut releases...basically the stuff that was on Toonami that wasn't Naruto. (Zatch Bell/Mar (Well MAR was relatively okay)/PoT/ESPECTIALLY MEGAMAN NT WARRIOR/STAR FORCE. Not only were those dubs not that great but they didn't finish or get uncut releases. That's three strikes!)

I don't get Kinnikuman Nesei/Ultimate Muscle. I thought it was more accepted than the original Japanese version. Well, what about a redub of the Samurai Pizza Cats? It was NOT what it originally was.

Well brace yourself for another.

Beast Wars

Unlike the original version, the Japanese version was written as...comical. I think one of the characters got a gender change, as well.

Ugh, Pokemon: The First Movie. After finding out the truth, I feel had. I didn't realize it was THAT horrible. And yet, that Macekre was very popular. I feel so violated. And worse, I can't even watch the original Japanese version. Same with Cardcaptor Sakura. After my worst experiences with Japanese fiction, I just can't...just can't... ugh. I have left almost all of that past behinjd me. It seems anime could never get as break when it comes to licenses.

And what? Noone liked Funimation's dubbing of Dhounen Jump's DBZ?

Some DBZ fans hate it for a few good reasons:
1. Inaccurate script.
2. Adding extra dialouge when characters' faces are off-screen.
3. The replacement of the original background music.
4. Character, places and technique names changed.

"Hey, Vegeta! Good thing those pilots ejected when we blasted them!"

"Nappa, didn't those planes have spinning blades on top?"

"Ooooh....lasagna."

Though, PERSONALLY there are some parts in the dubs were they did and took out the music were pretty good for some scenes. (Same goes with lines)

I only can name two I think the dubs did a better job then the japanese.
Here's the two.
Goku truns super saiyan
U.S

Japanese

PERSONALLY, even though those scenes were pretty epic; I think the Dubs Music did a little of a better job the the japanese. I just feel like "Wow, whats going on here?". Not hating on the japanese, but I like the dubs a little bit more.

Here's another one.

Future Trunks goes super saiyan
Dubs

Japanese (sorry, I can't find the Japanese dubs, but I did found the Remastered Clip with the japanese music mix with the U.S dubs.)

Personlly, I think how the dubs took out the music and only thing you heard is Trunks screaming while rain making it more dramatic really works. The japanese added music in the scene which "PERSONALLY" didn't work for me.

But sometimes, the japanese knows where to hit it.

I LOVE THIS JP SOUNDTRACK!!!

I have'nt seen much Dragon Ball(it's one of those franchises on the top of my list, though) but I have a watched a few dubbed and subbed episodes, and, even though I did'nt think the dub was too bad, I just thought the sub was better. I mean, if you watch and like the dub, than the sub is like the same show with better editing. (I don't have this opinion often; as I've said before, I'm mostly a dub guy.)

Ooo, ooo, I've got one! Any show that was originally two or more different shows in Japan, but got fused together for an American release (it happened more often than you'd think).

What you mean like Robotech? Well I know that Macross is out completely by ADV but I'm not sure about the other two that were meshed together.

EDIT: Okay I looked up some more stuff and I really would like to see Megazone 23 and Galaxy Express 999 without the retardization edits put into it. Also would it be to much to want to see the original three movies that made up the mutant of "Digimon: The Movie." (I'm not saying it was bad but I'd like to see the originals someday)

LOST UNIVERSE: I don't understand how a normally competent dubbing company (ADV) screwed this title up so badly. Not only did the actors sound like they were dragged off the street and tossed into a recording booth. But the dialogue re-writes in the dub were just....bizarre. Lost Universe is a fun show and I'd love to see it get a new dub with non-stupid dialogue and talented actors.

COMIC PARTY-SEASON 2: I haven't actually seen the second season of Comic Party. But that's because the entire main cast was replaced (Right Stuf dubbed season 1 and ADV dubbed season 2)! I really liked the original cast and, even though I'm sure the ADV actors (and the Japanese actors) did a fine job, I just don't want to watch the show without them. I know this will likely NEVER happen; but I would be totally thrilled if it did!

I am not a DBZ fan. So I never watched it much.

To be fair on the dubbing. Three different companies dubbed the series into English. Well...there is the Malaysian /UK dub >_> "Avoid at all Cost". Unless you enjoy laughing your head off.
