This month's AotM marks a first for us here at Toon Zone, for this is the first online-only title to be given this distinction: Galaxy Express 999. Here's a brief synopsis of the series, which has been made available by FUNimation:

You may now discuss the series, keeping in mind that any and all potential spoilers be kept in spoiler tags like this:

This is a spoiler.

Also, don't forget to rate the series when you're finished.

Yay, this Leiji Matsumoto masterpiece won. By the way, it's also available from Crunchyroll.

Agreed. Also, it's available from Joost. If you want to own it, 84 episodes (so far, the original series is 113 episodes) are available to download on Direct2Drive for $1.99 per episode or in 15-episode volumes at $22.99 per volume. 85 episodes are also available on Amazon Video at $1.99 an episode with 3 bundles for the first 55 (Bundle 1 has 11 eps, the others have 22 eps each). If you have Vuze, the first 11 are available. If you have a PS3 and/or a PSP, the first 15 episodes are also available to download on the Playstation Store at $1.99 per episode.

Normally I would contribute more to this, but I've only seen about 20 episodes of this series. I have seen both movies though, and loved the first one. But out of all the Matsumoto titles I've seen, this GE999 is my fave.

Been watching on Funimation, since... Toei put international lock-outs on all their other online venues. Still, very nice to see the series get some decent recognition!

I guess for Matsumoto works go, i still like Daft Punk "Interestella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem" movie off the Discovery album. I still love that movie to this day (or its just one hour and a half long music video).

I saw the first 4 or 5 episodes about 2 years ago, and i havent touched the series since then. But from what i saw, it was really great.

Ive got the first manga sitting on my shelf that i happend to find a copy of a few months ago. Ill read it when i get around to it...

Aww, online only? I've been looking for it forever since the Sci-fi channel aired it (the movie I think) many many years ago on "Saturday anime".

eh, one day, when I can afford a better connection....
