By a close margin this month, Claymore has won the title of Anime of the Month. Unfortunately, I have nothing whimsical to say about, so I'll just leave you with a brief synopsis of Volume 1, which is available now from Funimation.

You may now discuss the series, keeping in mind that any and all potential spoilers should be kept in spoiler tags like this:
This is a spoiler.
Also, don't forget to rate the series when you're finished.

What I enjoyed best about Claymore is the fact that it's a shonen series were nearly all the major characters are female which is extremely rare. Plus it's probably the best besides Bersek to handle medieval fantasy and horror.

The nuraber one reason I love Claymore is because its nearly 100% serious. Theres hardly any humor in this show and its a very mature story. Thats quite a rare corabo and it certainly beats out Bersek for the emphises on women as opposed to....well, if you know Bersek then you know what I mean.

Also, it lacks fans service. Even though the cast is full of women, the anime/manga does not exploit that fact and theres no fan service at all, that I can think of and thats saying something! Also, I do mean WOMEN, this show isn't full of teenage girls that can kick butt. Almost all the Women are adults that fight with giant sworRAB named Claymores, hence the name of the story.

I'm going to post this in spoilers to be on the safe side. Spoiler-free wise, I love the series(despite the pacing), am a big fan of it, proud that it was won this month, and you should watch Volume 1 all the way through. If you've seen the anime, read the manga. Reading the manga? Give the 'toon a shot:
I love Claymore. It rules. I loved the manga and I'm enjoying the anime (so far). It truly is a unique shonen series, mostly because its principal cast are all female. It does get off really slow, but does pick up at the end of Volume 1. The Teresa story arc helps give Clare (our protagonist) a defined purpose and makes her an interesting character. And, when she meets up with the other Claymores, it gets a little bit hard to follow these similar-lloking characters; but the character designs are really solid to allow you to follow each personality. And, the personalities are there, from Miria's leadership to the psychotic nature of Ophelia.

Now, the only problem I have with the series is its pacing. I've only watched the first 14 episodes, and it covered the first seven volumes of the manga and the first chapter of volume 8. To me, that's just bad for a series where the source material is moving at a snail's pace (once a month in Jump SQ.). I knew there was a possibility of filler from the get-go, but I thought there was going to be at the beginning. As for the ending that will disappoint fans of the manga (like myself), I have not seen it since I avoided the anime when it was coming out in Japan (I wanted to read the stories first), but I set my expectations really low for it.

This series is good. WATCH IT NOW! TZ's Nuraber One Helen (and Claymore) fan demanRAB it!
