Anime Motion Comics: Are They Creatively Bankrupt?

I'd point out that the economic recession has led to a lot of "safe" acquisitions as of late. Look at what's on this spring. Remakes and adaptations all around. Adaptations are a safe investment. And let's face it, 9/10th's of the time, an incomplete adaptation will NOT be made better by a TV show studio than by the original creator.
