Anime Fan Parody Help / Voice Casting / Collaboration Thread (READ FIRST POST!)

animalia555 here. I am the creator of GetBackers The Abridged Manga Series I finally finished the script for part 2 of Act I, and I want to find a little help with the female role of Rika Yamamura, While she only appears in two chapters she is still important enough to those chapters that I Would like help from a real girl, (Mainly to avoid larynx dissonance, but still). Anyone [female] who is interested, and has a good computer microphone, please PM me.

YES. IT can be read AND watched.

Is it too late for anybody else to audition their roles for your abridged movie?

Actually, it's been a month since you last mentioned it, but still...

I've been too busy with school and site stuff to really think about it, I'm afraid. I'm fearful I'll need to wait until summer (or late June, rather).

Hey dudes, I'm just wondering if there is anybody that could be of help to me in regarRAB to an upcoming production of mine.

It requires in particular a crowd scene where there's a lot of characters chanting or yelling or whatnot. I'd use my regular cast, but I thought it'd be nice to have a particularly varied cast of cameos or people that would provide the lines instead, making for a more diverse scene.

Problem is, I've yet to find these people. So that is where you may come in. I need about say... 4-6 people of varying tones and so forth to perform these roles. If you're interested, please send me a PM with your e-mail address. It may take a weeeee bit to send you the script (with pictures) since I'm currently employed. But I'll do so as soon as I can, since I want to get this done as soon as possible.

Hope to hear from you guys then.

Hope it is alright to bring back up, but I just found out that MasakoX is going to be doing a six-part So you want to be a Voice Actor? how-to on blip. If anything it's help in the highest order, and I'm looking forward to seeing what pointers he may have.

Masako: "First of all, let me start by saying that anyone can be a voice actor"
HC: "So even I could-"
Masako: "Oh, God no. Ha ha"
HC: ""

Masako is far too nice a chap to say such things.

I liked the energy he had in that video. It kept me interested. But it was an intro so uh... yeah nothing special. Looking forward to more and very much hoping to learn something since my vocal instructor hasn't taught the class anything in a good year. -_-

I am thinking about spreading out into abridging anime specifically the Universal Century Gundam shows & movies starting with MS IGLOO: The Hidden One-Year War, and I was wondering if you guys could suggest somebody to collaborate with, I was thinking about Taekmkm but I do not know what tae's schedule is like.

That's quite a challenge to set for yourself if you're going to try and abridge EVERY UC work. Something short like MS IGLOO is a good place to start, but I'd worry that you're attempting a fairly mammoth project.

I thought I would take it one step at a time. I definitely want to be on the writing staff and want to help with the editing, though I could use assistance if anything flashier like rabroadi2k's Merle consciences scene in Escaflowne Abridged ep7 is called for, finally I would definitely need some help with voice acting ANY female characters and possibly some male ones too further down the road when there are more of them to be had. As for doing them all, it is a goal to strive for to give that whole universe an abridged continuity.

P.S. I would also provide the Raws for viewing, and editing if help is need with that.

Taekmkm is a good collaborator but allas he's currently enrolled in boot camp. One can only wonder when he shall return to the internet. But he'd probably have too much on his plate right now even if he was back.

Heard back from Tae who is helping me a little in the scripting prcess and i finished the first script. Now I Just need voice actors. Drop me a line if you are interested open roles include.

Ehrlich Kruger: Minor Character
Domenico Marquez: Other minor character
Aleksandro Hemme: Trigger happy gunman: Now filled by my friend Omie
Martin Prochnow: Captain with a split personality: one cynical, one senile
Hideto Washiya: minor character.

minor characters have no major personalities quirks as of this episode, and I am hoping AngelElric will be willing to do the female roles of Jean Xavier and Monique Cadillac, but if you are a girl and are interested you can stiill let me know as you may get a lucky break, either if AngelElric turns me down/does not reply or when other female charcters sre introduced later in my U.C. gundam abridging project.

EDIT: Angel Elric turned me down, so for now at least, the female roles are open.

Not to self-pimp too much, but I've started a blog that, along with reviews (currently largely handled by Lavan, formerly of the Anime: The Abridged Series blog), has some how-to articles on stuff like DVD ripping and editing as they relate to abridged series. It's mostly just a place where I can get some definitive answers to common questions down for quick reference, but if anyone has any requests, let me know.

Hm... I'm in need of any help from fellow abridgers or video editors.

I've currently started using Premiere CS4 to edit my videos (yes, I'm another exception in this Abridger's sea where most of their shipyarRAB are Vegas-based), but I've been having some troubles editing. When I import certain videos to Premiere (uncompressed at that as well) I get this message:

"File Importer detected an inconsistency in the file structure . Reading and writing this file's metadata (XMP) has been disabled"

Then it reveals that the footage goes by too fast and the audio takes a drop in quality. Has anybody ever had that problem in their programmes? Do you know of any way to work around the problemit? Please let me know. Thanks.
