Animation software suggestion

I basically got a new computer, and I am currently looking for an animation software. And I'm looking for something that is good and can focus on paperless animation. So any suggestions? And if anyone wants to know..I am interested in 2D animation softwares not 3d if anyone is wondering.
 
Flash is always good for someone who doesn't want to rely on CG modeling programs.

But if it's CG you want, you can choose Blender, Maya or 3D Studio Max (my school has both Flash and 3D Studio Max. I kid you not).
 
I've used Flash for years and it's become a 2D animation standard for web and TV, but I've heard great things about ToonBoom- a similar application made with animation in mind. Never tried it, though. So some research and decided between that or Flash.
