Animation Schools

So, I'm thinking of applying to CalArts, but I was wondering if anyone knows of other good schools for animation or if anyone has any tips on getting scholarships.

Well, there's the Digital Institute of Art and Technology. I'm actually going there for three days at the end of March (March 30-April 1).

There's The Savannah College of Art and Design, which is where I go to. They're CG program is one of the best in the country, but the 2D output isn't as good as CalArts from what I've seen. However, it is cheaper than CalArts.
There scholarship programs are pretty good, the easiest one to get I think gets $5,000 off your tuition, and all you have to do is keep a GPA above 3.0.

From what I've seen, the best animation school is Gobelins School of Image in Paris, France. Students there produced the Oscar 2008 nominee short, "Oktapodi".

I'm attending Academy of Art University in San Francisco in the fall. I'm kinda wary because I've heard both good and terrible things about them. But they're cheaper than most and they're apparently the grounds for some of the most aggressive scouting in the country. Their open enrollment policy is a big plus as well.

Yes, there's an art institute in my city, but it's notorious for being very expensive with little to no guarantee of a job. CalArts on the other hand, you're expected to get a job when you graduate from their character animation program.
