Animation Day!

On Tuesday night I had the absolute joy of hanging out with my former teacher Charles (of Animation Nation fame or infamy depending on who you ask), for Animation Day.

Animation Day is an anual event that Charles and his school put on every April fools day in order to celebrate art, the medium of animation, and to critique the industry. It was absolutely one of the most inspiring events I have been to in a long time. Seeing so many students working on their craft, and mingling was a sight to behold. As a student who is sometimes upset with the things he see's in the industry, I am happy to see that there are many people who are activaly trying to make the animation community a better place.

A post about it on Animation Nation. If you look carefully at that wide shot of the room you can see me hanging out in a blue jacket (hint I'm the suddenly darker value in the image:p )

Eventually, as I understand it there will be a video.

Anyway just thought I'd share that.

Sounds fun. :) But that guy has his dates wrong in the first post.If this tradition started in 1999,then it would be the 9th year that it's been present. Just pointing it out.

1999.
2000.
2001.
2002.
2003.
2004.
2005.
2006.
2007.
2008.

Maybe he's counting that way, then it would be ten meetings wouldn't it? Math is weird sometimes.

Oh well, it was fun though. Tremendous amount.
