Animated slideshow with AJAX?

Lately I've been seeing websites that have an autoplay slideshow in them. A picture will fade in, and when it transitions, fade out and the next image fades in. I've been searching the web trying to find what I want, but am having difficulty. If anyone knows where I can find information on how to do this, I'd appreciate it.

I use ColorBox. It's simply awesome.

You could also use lightbox or ThickBox! Check google for them!
