Animated Series you'd like to see what channel acquire

Figured this would be better than just CN or just Nick, as this can be for any channel, pretty much. Only thing is that it has to be an animated series.


Nick@Nite: The Simpsons. It'd probably do well, they could air older episodes, and to my knowledge only certain FOX affiliates air episodes at all other than Sundays.


Nickelodeon: Code Lyoko. CN doesn't seem to care about it anymore, so maybe Nickelodeon would. It could run alongside The Troop on Friday nights for a small action block. Who knows how much longer CN will have the rights to the show, especially when it hasn't aired since April 2008? Plus, by the time they'd get done airing all 4 seasons, the 5th Season might be done with completion (One was recently announced by a potential voice director)


One Piece. I'm not a fan of this show particularly, but I've seen a little of it (the FUNimation dub - I have seen the 4kids one.) and it was alright. This too could go alongside The Troop and Code Lyoko on Friday nights.


Nicktoons: Garfield & Friends. This was a great show and needs to stick on a network in the USA.


Disney XD: Class of the Titans. It'd probably get more publicity on here, plus I don't seem to have it on any of the ION affiliates I have, and I want to check it out.

Disney Channel: Nothing. Maybe just airing CotT sometimes.



Cartoon Network: My Dad the Rockstar. A great cartoon created by Gene Simmons, plus, it's Canadian. Might go in well on the channel.

Tara Duncan: The Animated Series. Only if they'd treat it well and not deathslot it like they did with Gormiti.

Binka. A fairly entertaining British show, doesn't seem to have ever had an American home.
 
I would like to see Simpsons on Adult Swim. It seems to fit the mood better than Nick @ Nite.

I know that pigs will fly before this happens but it would be cool if Disney XD (or anyone for that matter) gets an English dub of Dr.Slump. I know that it isn't realistic, but hey a person can dream.:sweat:

I'd like to see SGT. Frog and One Piece on Cartoon Network. If Naruto S does well on XD, Disney Channel might air it and they'd be in trouble. Heck even bringing DBZ back would be great.
 
I really only have two that I would like to see run on cable; the Looney Tunes and The Simpsons. The Looney Tunes I would ideally like to see them run on Cartoon Network again, but if that isn't possible I would like to see WB try and sell a LT/MM package(at least the post-48 and Sunset cartoons that they own outright) to another network, although I'm not sure which one would be a good fit.

As for The Simpsons, this has been the one show I've been wanting to see reruns make the jump to cable for the longest time, namely due to the issues we have running the show locally(see below). As far as where I would like to see them go, I would say either Comedy Central or FX. Comedy Central because they already air Futurama, but I guess some of the issues CC would have gaining the rights would be all the other aquisitions they've gained recently(The Goode Family, Sunny In Philly). FX would also be a good fit, they've aired Fox shows in the past, and I assume since FX is already owned by 20th Century Fox they couldn't possibly charge them to much to run the show, could they? I would also like to see The Simpsons air on TBS, but since Adult Swim had issues gaining rights to them, I highly doubt any Turner station could air them at the present time. And no, I do not think Nick@Night would be a very good fit for The Simpsons.



It airs on various Fox, CW, or MyNetworkTV affiliates, depending on your market, and it airs in just about every media market in America. Most markets run syndicated episodes at least twice a day, one for newer episodes and one for the classic episodes. However, there are some media markets, like Boise, who have an independently run affiliate that can only afford certain packages, therefore they get stuck only getting to run the episodes a certain amount of times.

In Boise's case, our local Fox affiliate is independently run and airs syndicated episodes every weeknight at 6:30 PM, however they are limited on how many times each episode can be aired. As a result only episodes from seasons 19 and 20 can currently air(with a few stragglers from seasons 17 and 18), but anything older than that, including the classics like Krusty Gets Cancelled or ...And Maggie Makes Three, haven't been seen in years. There are sometimes exceptions, as the station has gotten permission to run a certain season for a certain month(for instance, last February they were able to show any episode from season three, but it only lasted that month).

That said, our local Fox affiliate has been trying to get a new contract with 20th Century Television Distribution to get a better package that would allow them to show any episode from the history of the show, but apparently 20th Television asks for too much money and KTRV simply can't afford it. It's really the same reason why The Simpsons hasn't made the leap to cable TV yet, as the networks aren't willing to pay that much for it(I believe Adult Swim tried to acquire the rights once, but Turner just couldn't afford it).
 
I'd like [AS] to get Sit Down, Shut Up if it gets canceled (which is likely)

and I'd be cool to see the Wallace and Gromit movies on CN again. from what I remember, they used to air around Christmas. however, with the way CN is now, I think they would do better on Nick.

that's really all I can think of besides putting The Simpson's on more than one channel in my area...
 
I've thought that as well. It might see a peak in popularity and get more episodes if it goes to AS. Didn't that happen with Family Guy?


Also..

Disney Channel: 6teen. They've acquired Canadian shows before, and CN is slowly killing it off. It might do better there.
 
Family Guy was the exception, not the norm. FG already had a substantial fan base behind it and its' return was bolstered by the tremendous sales of the DVDs.

The 'repeats on [as] thing' worked with Family Guy and Futurama, but that doesn't mean that it would work with every show. Those were special cases with special circumstances.
 
I believe what he meant was that Sit Down, Shut Up might spark a popularity if it WAS to air on Adult Swim, due to the fact most people have no idea what the show is because FOX ran it with so little advertising and promotion. I know The Oblongs and Mission Hill have become very popular since they were on Adult Swim, I believe AS ran a bump bragging about how The Oblongs is the highest rated series on all Cable in the 18-49 demo when it airs.
 
The more I watch Moon Phase, the more I believe it would fit in on Cartoon Network. Sure, there's blood, but girls are all about vampires nowadays and even though the vampire is not male, I still think it would be watched. Adult Swim isn't the right place for it since it's more of a girl's show.
 
I would just love to see One Piece and SGT Frog air somewhere. Mostly Disney XD, Nicktoons, or Cartoon Network, they seem like they'll fit on any of those channels.
