Animal Planet on News and Learning 1

I just checked bell.ca and Animal Planet is not listed under News & Learn 1 but still under Family 2. Do you have a link?
 
I checked today and I get RDS 123 but not RDSHD 863. Shouldn't I get the HD channel as well?

if you click on english theme pack and look under news and learning 1 you will see these channels:CNN, CNBC, TLC, DISCOVERY CHANNEL, BBC WORLD NEWS, CTS, HISTORY, CP24, BNN, HEADLINES NEWS, VIVA, 680 NEWS, CJAD and ANIMAL PLANET.

I wonder why they moved it there. i wish they could do something about variety 2 for tvland and dejaview. i believe they should be in family 2. those channel can be enjoy by everyone...
 
In the CSG billing system, there are new theme packs:

New News and Learning 1 (with Animal Planet)
New Sports 1 (with RDS, and without RSN and OLN)
New Sports 2 (with RSN and OLN)
New Family 2 (without Animal Planet)
*** Animal Planet is no longer available as a pick and pay after May 1st

Note to get RDS and animal planet you must do a theme swap and have New Sports 1 (instead of G1-Sports 1 and old Sports 1) and New News and Learning 1 (instead of old News and Learning 1).

So, we live in the computer age, and everything should be as easy the click of a button.

So if Bell were to update everybody with News&Learning 1, they would also have to update everybody with Family 2 and who get Animal Planet by itself. Maybe they should just remove it as a standalone, and force everybody who has it to subscribe to New&Learning 1. Or force people who have Family 2 to lose Animal Planet and subscribe to News&Learning 1 to keep it.

Either way, you'll have people who complain.
 
This doesn't sound like a deal you gain rds but lose sportsnet. If you switch to the new news and learning 1 and get animal planet does anybody know what you lose. I think this a way to get people to buy some of the weaker theme packs. Sports 2 is more for winter sports like basketball and hockey why would anybody want it in the summer. Sportnet has almost all of the baseball coverage once hockey and basketball season are over what will tsn and tsn2 show probably a whole lot of poker.
 
Unfortunately though, many people would lose their grandfathered prices as this is a "change" to your account.
 
Um........No they won't...I have AP pick & pay AND News & Learning 1, and phoned last week to find out why they are still charging me $2.50 extra per month. I was told that it was up to me to find out about the NEW News & Learning 1 and that I would NOT get my $7.50 refunded. Perhaps if I had threatened to cancel, I would have gotten it. Seems that THAT IS THE ONLY WAY!!!!
 
Is there any reason someone wouldn't want the NEW News & Learning 1?

If not, why not give it to everyone?
 
Fourth call today.

I asked to get the new package. The very bright and sympathetic bell employee argued with me that Animal Planet is not with N&L1 but with F2 :o but I insisted. He put me on hold for quite a few minutes and then stated that AP is now with N&L1. No shellac sherlock!

I now have AP. Thank you BellTV. That was soooo fast! ;)


Seriously, it's sad that BTV keep their own employees in the dark of what is happenning, and then have to argue with people that know better. It's disrespectful to employees. It's disrespectful to customers.

Stop charging (AP - $2.50) for anyone who has N&L1 and P&P AP. = happy campers

Add AP to anyone that has N&L1 = happy campers

This whole topic of conversation is moot anyway as "what is, is".
 
the animal planet pick-n-pay is not grandfathered. If you had the pick-n-pay before may 1, it'll be gone. I had to call bell to fix this -- ie they gave me the 'new' n&l 1 in place of the old one.
 
It is a deal if you already have Sports 1 and 2. You gain RDS & RDSHD. I can now drop "Le Monde en Fran

It wasn't the fact it was a rebate of 7.50, it was the principle that counts. My husband and I can definitely afford to have all the great services we have, its the point that some others don't. When a person screws up and doesnt pay their bill, you get those angry calls.

I firmly believe I did the right thing. I most definitely have had enough of looking at my bill each month. Not the satellite singley, but the cellular service, the landline and satellite combined. Its over 250 a month. Canada unfortunately pay the HIGHEST amount in cell bills.

Unfortunately, I had to argue with the gal on the phone about my feelings on the subject. I have a wonderful hubby but he has a tendancy to say "CAn I get this rebate?" they say "NOPE" and his response is "Have a great day!" ya know. Me on the other hand am more up front.

I feel strong that if the package changes, the channel should automatically be unlocked for all of us. Technology is a great great thing, I know, I work in a Nuclear reactor. But anyhow, it worked for me trying to get a little compensation, I hope it works for others!
 
I was told by a Chat CSR I would get both as long as I sub to SD Sports 1 and HD sports, May 1 09.
 
Same here, except I'll just replace Le Monde en Francais with the More Movies theme, since I'm on the 5 themes for $23 package.
At least, I will once they start answering the phone again after the long weekend. The website won't let me de-select the old themes so I can't do it myself.
