Animal Crossing Population Growing (Gamecube) and Gameboy Advance Linking Cable?

On Animal Crossing Population Growing it has the island with Kapp'n. I have a Gameboy Advance Linking Cable but I don't have any type of Animal Crossing game for the Gameboy. I need to know if I need the Animal Crossing game for the Gameboy in order to be able to get the island down at the dock with the boat that Kapp'n runs. I also have another question about the Animal Crossing series, does Animal Crossing City Folk come for any other Nintendo or Playstation game system other than the Nintendo Wii? One more(sorry) Can you get married or anything like that on Animal Crossing Population Growing or Animal Crossing Wild World?
