Ani-Monday Talkback, 10/5/09: Kai Doh Maru, Motion Comics

This week's Ani-Monday schedule brings us the OVA Kai Doh Maru and television premieres for the Street Fighter and Voltron motion comics. Next week will introduce the premiere of Monster at 11 PM!

Here's a description for Kai Doh Maru:


Tonight's schedule:

11 PM: Kai Doh Maru
12 AM: Street Fighter Motion Comic Round 1 - Chapters 3 and 4
12:30 AM: Voltron Motion Comic: Unearthing the Past
 
KDM, me no liked. But I did enjoy those there motion comics. I remeraber my ass not moving from my chair while these were on. The stories that were told were told well; except from the beginning of the VOLTRON mc, the characters, in my proud opinion, were well-designed.
Actions were conveyed quite well, I must say.
I WAS NOT OFFENDED.
 
Kai Doh Maru has an interesting visual style but it has not aged well at all and the story made very little sense after the first 20 minutes, when things just seem to happen without a lot of explanation. The dub was fairly sloppy; the VAs couldn't even match the lip flaps right.

The OVA would have been better off as a full-length instead of a 45-minute feature. The extra time could have helped things make more sense.
