Ani-Monday Feb. & Mar. Schedules (Gundam 00, Gurren Lagann, Rave Master & More)

Yeah, the listenable US theme tune is gonna get skipped in favor of the unlistenable one.

I wonder if that was the real reason why Sci-fi picked it up: they can run more commercials with a 40-second OP than a 1:30 OP, since Sci-fi seems to have a policy of not skipping the OP.

Well, it's actually a minute-long opening if you count the narration at the beginning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9WlUc8N7z0&feature=related

I still don't know why Sci-Fi bothered. If they wanted a show that didn't cost much from CN, with under 100 eps, any of the .Hacks would have been better.

As for the thme songs, I loved the Power of Destiny. It had a catchy beat.

To me Sci-Fi had a lot of anime that was doom and gloom even with the bright sunny day parts so they focuses on getting the young kiRAB to watch the station with adding the show to their line-up.

Yes. There's the OP theme "RAVEolution", performed by ska act Reel Big Fish, and the ED theme "Power of Destiny", performed by Jennifer Paige. Because of Sci-fi keeping the OP but skipping the ED, the listenable theme tune (Paige's) is gonna get skipped every time while we're stuck listening to RBF's horrendous OP.

Bingo.

I LOVED the theme.....on Toonami. Personally, while I prefer a series to keep its orinigal music in a dub, I can handle adaptions as well as literal dubs, like Duel Masters turning its Yugioh rip-off into a parody. Now, OF COURSE Rave Master's dub was NOT a parody, it was just a cheap dub without paying for the orinigal music, but since that's what we're stuck with, I'll take the bad with the good, but would also take the good with the bad.

And I like the short version used in the show. Hell, I liked the Zatch Bell dub theme songs too that alot of fans hate. Hell, I have the entire Digimon movie soundtrack, which has basically half the songs of season 2's dub. But man or man, did the long version sucked. I love Reel Big Fish, but let it not be said they didn't churn out at least one crappy song to earn a quick buck.

(I'll give RGF some credit, they did at least make fun of themselves and other artists who occassionaly put out sub-par songs by making that a point of a song.)

You know, I remeraber when the show was on Toonami the opinion seemed to be the opposite. Everyone seemed to like the opening, but not the ending.
