Ani-Monday Feb. & Mar. Schedules (Gundam 00, Gurren Lagann, Rave Master & More)

Well be it edited or uncut I never watched Rave Master last time around, so I will watch it this time. And by the time Gurren Lagann returns, the whole series will be out on dvd so I probably won't be rewatching that.

So I'll be watching:
Gundam 00
Macross Plus
Appleseed
Ninja Scroll (would watch the "X" Movie by that bores me to death, plus the movie cast isn't the same as the series cast)
Rave Master

I once owned "X" but could never make it through to the end so I got rid of it. But I've never seen Ninja Scroll and I have heard good things about it.

Now if Ani-Monday can possibly extend and also create an Ani-Tuesday or something for this summer then we might be talking about a really good block.

Ninja Scroll is good... uncut. There's a lot cut from the version they'll be airing on Sci-Fi, sadly. D: It's still pretty good though. I own the DVD.

As far as the X Movie.. yeah, I agree about it being much different than the series. D:

Feb. 2nd.. Quadruple 00 is crazy.

eh... I'll pass on Rave Master, sorry =[
At least X will be on again. That's always fun!
Maybe Gundam 00 Season 2? Sometime in the future? maybe? possibly? pleaseeee?

Ah, Ninja Scroll, a classic of all classics. Edited or not, that's definitely worth a look if you haven't seen it yet. Also been meaning to catch X, and more 00 sounRAB good.

I'll probably pass on everything else, though.

Well, Moribito's rights belong to CN/AS anyway. Rave Master's probably been expired for a year or so at least (although CN never removed the show from their website).

I'm actually thinking this is a new uncut dub produced by FUNimation like what ChibiGoku's suggested.

If it's uncut, I'll give Rave Master a try. If it's the edited one I won't, because I gave it a chance a few years ago on Toonami and it really didn't work for me at all.

I'm pretty confident Gundam 00 will be back. My earlier speculation notwithstanding, it was overly optimistic to think that they'd be dubbing it so fast that they could just air the second season at two episodes a week without interruption at this point.

I'm fine with Gurren Lagann coming back and then having another show or two get some time, after which 00 returns. There are really quite a few interesting possibilities for Ani-Mondays that I'd like to see get on the air. I'm glad significant titles like Gundam and GL have a home there, but I also like how the block gets relatively obscure titles on the air. Sometimes that gets us questionable things like MD Geist, Tokko, and Street Fighter Alpha Generations, but it also gets us Macross Plus and the Street Fighter II movie and Now and Then, Here and There. I'd really like to see them continue that while also making a little room for some really solid SF shows, one of which would certainly be Ergo Proxy.

Well, Gurren Lagann will likely end sometime in July . . . if Rave Master's ratings hold up it'll be on the air until October or so.

My guess is that after GL completes its 2nd run they'll rerun Gundam 00 season 1 and then start up season 2 after the season 1 reruns stop. Gundam 00 season 2 will then run with premieres of another show behind it (possibly a FUNi title?).

This is not including the possibility of Ani-Mondays expanding to three hours or getting Tuesdays back.

Rave Master? This better not be the dub that aired on CN but I don't see why it would be a different dub... I mean would FUNi redub Rave Master and if they did... why give the broadcast rights to MANGA Entertainment? This is some really bizzare stuff but if Rave Master makes the cut then FUNimation's One Piece should.

Because Rave Master is an old show that FUNi (or whoever has it) probably wouldn't mind giving broadcast rights to another company so it could get some exposure.

There's also the possibility that Manga Entertainment themselves pulled out the cash to do a rescue and redub, but Manga doesn't strike me as the type of company that would do that.

I don't really want long SJ series coming. I mean, I love One Piece, but it's VERY long. If it aired that's occupying a huge chunk of the block for a very long time, which I don't think they'll want to do. Also, it's my impression that Ani-Monday is generally shooting for an older demographic. If Ani-Monday were 3 or 4 hours long it'd be a different story, but it's not. I'll be happier seeing diversity brought to the block.

Kenshin talk raises a good thought, though. If they can air Ninja Scroll, they could air Sumurai X: Trust & Betrayal without any problems. They should snap those up from ADV post haste, as those OVA's are still pretty much the best Samurai anime that you'll ever find.

I still don't see what was so bad about that dub. The edits were not that horrid to me. And the voices were not bad ether but I realize I'm the minority here.
