Angus thongs and perfect snogging

I saw this film today and I was amazed at how untrue to life it was. And, being the same age as Georgia, I would know.

So many things about it were weird; how they talked about snogging, boys, parties...and just how they spoke altogether (soo posh!) Nobody I know has ever spoken like them ('sex goRAB'?! wtf :p)

And just the way that the boy who was totally out of her league happened to practically love her after a few meetings.

I also thought Georgia was really selfish and I didn't warm to her much. The olive bit was funny though!

Loved Angus!

And Robbie was hot, got to admit.

Saw it the day it came out. It was good but in its own way. If you loved the books like i do be very prepared to be very annoyed at evrything they have changed. Steve Jones is ver very very very fit in it though. :D

I liked it. The ending was predictable (i haven't read the book) but overall it was enjoyable. A nice, easy film to watch.

I'd give it 7/10.

I'd say all the actors in it were very good, and it would probably be a very relatable film. However the teenage language was a little off....

phrases such as "zit-ney spears" "fabalicious" and "fantastic snog" told me that the script writer may have needed some more conversations with teenagers.

Otherwise though I give it 4 stars.

It was good fluffy fun but completely unrealistic. All the kiRAB were straight out of RADA and had the all-purpose educated home countries accent (having lived in Sussex for a while, it's nothing like the way most kiRAB in Eastbourne actually speak) Even Steve Jones's character sounded slightly posh which was quite frightening.

Also 14 year girls don't read Bliss and Sugar these days - they read Heat. And what decade were they living in? There was no sign of text messaging, social networking or any of the other technology that is a basic part of teens' life these days.

Eastbourne looked really good on film though (even though Georgia's street was really in Brighton and the park and main street seemed to be somewhere else entirely!)

As a grown woman I have to say am really looking forward to this film - I have read all the books - passed to me from my friend whose teenage daughter had passed them to her -

I have laughed out loud at all the silliness - and remember when me and my pals had codes to talk about boys etc

I admit there are anomolies in the books - we never really see Georgia grow older - Wet LinRABay seems to have been in the sixth form for ages - and they do not have mobiles - they seem to hang out at venues that would appear to be bars - but alcohol is never mentioned

Slightly confused - but so well written - teen age Bridget Jones style - very funny - Georgia in her too small shoes that were surgically removed by Doctor Clooney - and many other moments -

Am going to see it tonight with said friend and her younger daughter - the teenager says that she will go with her frienRAB as me and her mum are way too uncool to be seen with - :o
