Glad to hear it went well. I had two stents put in on a Thursday and was riding that Monday. (probably shouldn't have but I did.)Just be careful with the spot where they made the incision. The worst thing is the "bikini cut" that they give you. It itches like a bitch when the hair grows back.
Good Luck and Ride safe

Hope your doctor gives you the all-clear soon so you can get back on the bike and get your new parts installed. I know what it's like to not be able to ride for a while.

Glad you caught it in time. Take care, and as the others have said above, Stick to the Doctors advice, change your life style a little and "Live long and prosper" as SPOCK would say!

Just curious, how young are ya?

Good thing you went in when you did.. 4 1/2 years ago I had a massive heart attack and I was lucky also.. although i was dead and they revived me several times they said they gave me one stent in the main artery to the lower half of my heart. I have 20% damage but im still alive and do everything I did before cept smoking .. I was in the hospital for 10 days and dont remember 7 of them.. 3 weeks after though i saw the heart doc and got the ok to ride and I rode to the remainder of my 6 weeks of rehab .. Hang in there its only 3 weeks .

Take it easy Rick- you are a lucky man to have caught it in time, and are fortunate to have your wife by your side for it...now I'm contemplating cream of wheat versus eggs and bacon this morn!

The excersize and better fOod choices will make a huge difference. I am still pretty young but my dad and I started working out together cause he was starting to get hi colesterol and he has dropped like 40 lbs and like 45 points on the colesteral. And we both feel way better in general!

thanks guys oatmeal for me or cheerios for breakfast from this day forward walking my dog from now on. someone asked my age iam 56 years olds and yea that dam bikini cut is itching like a bitch right now. i felt the differance the next day after they installed the stent. and yes i was a lucky man cuz the doctor said it could have been much worse. when i relized what had happen i look to the right of me i seen my wife asleep in a portable bed asleep. when she woke up they brought us both oatmeal decafe coffee she said she would eat and excersize with me from now on. and she wouldnt ride with out me. thank u for your concerns and get wells u guys are the best hope to see ya on the rode one day.

Glad you are ok. Almost same thing happened to me, except I thought they were going to stent me. Surgeon came in, looked at the monitor and said no way. Next thing I knew, double bypass. He said I would not have made it through the night. Somebody was watching over you!
