Verdict?

Awful. Absolutely, incredibly bad - and yes, worse than DaVinci Code :eek:

Slow start, first hour boring ... and then after that it descended into absurdly predictable farce.
 
lots of people have been saying the film is inferior to the book.

If the book is anywhere near as bad as the DaVinci Code novel, then that seems like a mean feat :eek:

I saw this yesterday I thought it was watchable and passed a couple of hours by.

The ending though (helicopter)... Completely unbelievable! Like someone else has said if an explosion as big as several nuclear bombs went off it would still have blown up Rome and probably much more even if the helicopter was so high up in the sky. (Which was also unbelieveable).

But it was okay, worth the
 
I've got a soft spot for Angels & Demons, as I read it while holidaying in Rome, and I was able to visit the locations Dan was describing. I even read the Piazza Navona "drowning" section while I was sat outside a trattoria in the very Piazza . . .
The film was enjoyable - a little far fetched, but hey - its nice to indulge in a little escapism from time to time . . . .
The movie loosely follows the book, but as with DVC, quite a few alterations have been made . . . .
 
I've seen the movie, never read any Dan Brown.

The film - a preposterous storyline that enRAB up with one of the most far fetched climaxes I've ever seen. Very funny in parts (not deliberate!!).

It looks very glossy and polished which will deceive some people into thinking this is a classy hollywood thriller, but it's a shocker. Almost so bad that it's good.:p
 
Saw the movie last night. Looks very polished and glossy. Very visually stunning. However, the plot seriously lets the film down, it was altogether too violent and gory for my liking. Also the plot twist at the end was altogether too farfetched. The score music is gorgeous though. I won't be purchasing the dvd nor would I recommend the film as I found it so wholly disturbing.

I actually preferred The Da Vinci Code.

This was passable but even more ridiculous than the above and at times a bit dull.

I'm not sure if I liked Ewan McGregor's performance in it. Part of me wonders if he had been a bit more subtle it would have been less predictable. Instead he was doing 'mad eyes' all through it lol, but it was so silly perhaps that made it better I don't know.
 
Saw this at a late showing last night and, after not finishing the book and seeing negative write-ups, was surprised that I enjoyed it. I found it interesting though a bit difficult to follow (was sleepy) and gory sometimes. The end was a surprise.

It's worth seeing.
 
I've seen this! Okay, the start didn't grab me really and I felt the first half hour just floated along with nothing really that thought-provoking or interesting to sustain my interest so I did drift to sleep for about 10 minutes. I felt that it relied heavily on the tense backing music and scenery without any real substance or anything tangible so that was a bit irritating, I felt like I wasn't watching a movie..just a couple of men drifting along life, wondering what they were going to do next. But I awoke to a pleasent surprise, it soon picked up and I found myself really captured in the thrill of the chase the characters were on, there was a few twists and turns which constantly made you think about what was going to happen next. So overall, first half hour is boring, but it does pick up and builRAB up to a brilliant ending.
 
The science may be awful but at least they actually filmed it at CERN (yep, that was the genuine LHC and buildings etc.) unlike Dan Brown who described CERN as being in a great big valley with modern looking glass "cathedrals" as he calls it.

I've been to CERN. Main reception is a one story building which looks like it's from a 60's holiday camp.
 
I thought it was AWFUL.

I find Tom Hanks insufferably smug - and Ewan McGregor was about as interesting as a piece of cardboard.

I'm not a fan of Dan Brown's books. I don't rate his writing at all. However, I thought the Da Vinci Code movie was better than the book.

Angels and Demons was worse than the book (and the book was pretty bad, in my opinion).
 
Quite enjoyed reading the DVC, hated A&D.

Hated both films.
