I just had Ablation on my esophagus as treatment for Barrett's Esophagus. When the Anesthesiologist injected the anesthesia via IV my hand started to burn fast and with extreme pain. The anesthesia was Propofol which I've had several times in the past. This time was extreme and seemed take much longer to put me under. I was telling everyone in the OR that I was in really bad pain and got the old we'll just wait till he goes under then he'll be quiet. I qustioned the Anesthesiologist after I recovered and she just said, "It happens sometimes." My concern is that I have two more Ablations to go through and the thought of that pain scares me,
Anyone ever experience severe pain from the injection site of Propfol?

The same thing happened to me. However, they told me that it was not the anesthesia that did it but the medicine they gave me before the anesthesia so I didn't have any memory of the actual procedure. I thought that was odd because I didn't think I'd have a memory of it anyway since I'd be asleep.

But yeah, when they injected that stuff into me, my lower arm and right hand was just in this EXCRUCIATING burning pain for at least 2-3 minutes. I remeraber describing it to my sister like as though my hand and lower arm had been immersed in lava.
