I live in Japan, but I am wanting to use the HTC Evo (after it comes out) over here. I could get it unlocked etc. But it would be wiser I think, to get WiMAX connection here in Japan (although I assume any non-contract HTC phone I could get would be unlocked anyways). So connecting through the WiMAX on this phone and also using a portable WiFi router for other portable internet devices (such as a laptop). I will use Gmail for my main messaging email, and use skype for phones...
So, I personally see nothing wrong with this, but can anyone comment if they see a problem in this scheme?
