Android Calendar Notification Issue

Fucque the army

Hopefully this is an easy fix but it has been driving me mad.

I have an HTC Hero with 2.1 installed, no custom ROM just the vanilla HTC 2.1 build for the Hero.

I use my phone to remind me of meetings I need to attend. When the phone beeps to remind me of a meeting it turns on the screen at the lock screen with the details displayed. Now the annoying bit is that the trackball on the Hero, if moved, snoozes the meeting and hides the meeting information. There is no way to cancel the reminder until the next reminder kicks in (after the snooze expires).

As I keep my phone in my pocket, EVERYTIME a meeting reminder beeps when I take my phone out of my pocket the trackball is touched which snoozes the meeting and hides all the details. Phone goes back in the pocket and process repeats 10 minutes later. It's driving me mad.

Hopefully there is something stupid I have missed that will stop this from happening.

Thanks for your help.

I can't fix your problem directly, but I wrote an app that can certainly help called Calendar Notifier. You can turn off the notifications in the standard Calendar app, and use my app to provide the notifications instead. You can customise the notification in just about every way possible (led flash rate, vibration, flashing the screen, repeat duration, snoozing, etc).

It can't display the event details on your screen for you, which is the down side here, but it won't be affected by hitting your trackball.

Search for Calendar Notifier on the Market, it's free, and if it doesn't help you then just uninstall it.

I think maybe it's the bug of the standard Calendar app. And should wait for the patch to be published.

I think you could just turn off the standard calendar, and find another one from the market, there should be some excellent.
