Android Black Screen HELP

Hello,
Yesterday my sister's android phone screen went BLACK.

-To explain further, her phone is not modded.
-The phone was on, but the screen would not turn on, it would just stay black.
-I did a (red, menu, green) to restart it, and it still kept the black screen.
-You can get calls, messages and so on.. but it's a touch screen.. and it has a black screen, so I find it impossible to do anything.

Help me please, what can I do to it?
 
try wiping the phone ...
power off. press home button and power button together at the same time to reboot . when you see the exclaimation point , open the keyboard and press alt+L , then press alt+w . this will wipe the phone and return all to factory settings . press home and back button to reboot . after your phone starts up again . you will have to sign in with your google account . your contacts will re sync in a few minutes . also your apps will appear in "my downloads" in a few minutes . you will have to reinstall the apps . good luck and i hope this fixes the problem . what i am concerned about is that the screen actually is the problem . if so , then i dont think wiping will help . thats when you will need to call tmobile ...... sure you can . when installing a manual update (update.zip) you still need to go into recovery . we all know you can manually update without root . i did it once with rc33
 
I have an Alcatel Tribe OT 981A with wind mobile. I just downloaded an app to help me find files (my gf downloaded the jamie oliver app and it saves videos to an unknown location) so I wanted to find and delete them. Having said that, I downloaded the app which has task killing/phone adjustment/battery usage (name eludes me at the moment, but I am searching on market for it) and it had a screen brightness adjustment on it, which i hit (accident) and it went to zero which is moronically designed to go completely black. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. As soon as I find the app name i will update this. Also, can I uninstall an app from my laptop?
