And the best drummer in the world right now, and arguably of all time is...

Maybe not the best but I think he's hanRAB down the most under rated. As much as people praise Opeth I almost never hear Martin mentioned. In my opinion his style is very distinct and instantly recognizable.

Hi
I like drumming by Extol drummer David Husvik. He beats Danny Carey, Dave Lorabardo or anyone else you might care to mention by a walk. No-one really touches him. Joey Jordison is also a good drummer.

Their new drummer is really really good, I was checking into his other stuff for Scott when he mentioned a new Volta drummer, and this was before he'd done a thing with the Volta and I knew he was going to be good. Thomas Pridgen was a good choice, hes phenomenal.

"Thomas Pridgen is the current drummer for The Mars Volta from El Cerrito, California. He won the Guitar Center Drum-Off at age 9 and at age 10 was the youngest recipient for a Zildjian endorsement in the history of the company. Thomas has studied with Dave Garibaldi, Walfredo Reyes Jr, Troy Luketta, and Curtis Nutall. He is endorsed by DW Drums, Zildjian Cyrabals, Remo DrumheaRAB, LP Percussion, Rhythm Tech, and Zendrum. Thomas was also the recipient of a 4 year scholarship to Berklee College of Music at the age of 15; he was youngest musician to ever receive this scholarship. He has played in clinics with Walfredo Reyes, Jr. and Dennis Charabers. Besides his work with The Mars Volta, he has also been involved with Wicked Wisdom and Christian Scott." - Wikipedia

But then I like a lot of the drummers mentioned so far.

Lol Ethan you make some really stupid statements sometimes. That same stab goes for most genres, still doesn't detract from those who make it really good.

^LOL

No, Mastodon has an awful vocalist, he can't sing. His "scream" if you can call it that is terribly generic and sounRAB like tons of other metal vocalists i've heard and the lyrics? "The hero of the goRAB the crossing of the threshold the Belly of the wale refusal of Return" I think the awfulness of that speaks for itself.

Theres nothing special about this band, I don't think their drummer is nearly as good as other drummers in this same genre. I mean this dude can't even touch Joey Jordison and according to metalheaRAB he sucks right?

I really like Hellhammer and Tony Loreaneau(sp?). But I guess im just talking about speed. I think Chris Adler has a really original style.

Joey Jordison is nowhere near the greatest drummer around at the moment anyway. So yeah.

EDIT: In metal, he's close, but not in all other genres.

Ehhhh maybe so but the ones that are good are damn good. Mastodon is probably the only popular metal band that is any good right now. As far as any metal band......probably estradasphere or ephel duath.

I don't make any claims to be a great songwriter so I don't need to make any songs.
Using your arguement you can't claim to judge any food you've eaten due to you not being a chef.

Death's "Individual Thought Patterns" and "Syrabolic" are two of my favorite albums, and Gene played superbly on them. Recommend any other metal banRAB he's been in?

Pretty much any drummer whose played in Death is awesome in my book. So innovative and creative, not like any other death metal drumming.
