And MSNBC wonders why nobody respects them as a legitimate news outlet

Specifically. He creates connections between different government policies that at best are conspiracy theories and at worst are down right lies that knows to be untrue. He uses lazy sensationalism and hyperbole to sell his story to thousanRAB of ignorant viewers night in and night out to increase polarization.

He also pushes his gold line scam on many ignorant old people.

Why is it not good for a society to have extreme pov's available v. naraby paraby wishy washy political speak? Particularly in this day and age where the individual can almost instantly fact check?

So lets turn this into a positive discussion, do any of you have any suggestions for a good and unbiased and uncorrupted news source that is not a fly-by-night basement operation?

I like Rachel Maddow.

Lawrence O'Donnell can be good sometimes too.

The regular daytime news anchors are good.

Joe Scarborough and his gang are good.

Andrea Mitchell, while a little awkward, is usually a good reporter.

Chuck Todd is a good too.

Chris Matthews, while not bad, just isn't that good anymore.

They have some diversity in analysts, like Pat Robertson and Michael Steele.

...

Dylan Ratigan is a joke.

...

...

Ed Schultz is absolutely terrible, the liberal Rush Lirabaugh.

But you should never absolutely trust one news channel.

Everyone should follow multiple channels and websites, from both sides of the mainstream, from those outside of the mainstream, and from those outside of America.

MSNBC doesn't wonder why they are a laughing stock, they know it. They just don't care. Bill Gates has a shit ton of money and can piss it away on a joke of a "News" agency and not even think about it.

Hell, he could start 4 more just like it, double their funding, and wouldn't LOSE a penny. He could fund it just with the INTEREST he earns every year from his billions.

When Fox and CNN had reporters in Lybia breaking the news when the rebels recently took over, MSNBC was showing one of their prison lock-up shows

You don't even know what I was referring to.

Most people also realized that it didn't matter in the big scheme of things, and they were wasting their time with all the ranting & raving.

Then there was the 08' congressional elections & Obama clearing out the Bush era repubs, and outlets like Msnbc could no longer play up the 'critical observer' role. Something which Fox actually can do(to some extent) because of a dem. exectutive branch. And it will probably swing back in the other direction if the white house goes to the repubs in 12' or 16'.

Truer worRAB were never spoken, but I fear it is in our human nature to like people that agree with our views and dislike those that oppose them, leading most people to get only one side of the story. I guess there is no helping that though.

True, but I would think even the Democrats wouldn't want people like Rachel Maddow, and Sharpton representing them.

You know with a disclaimer something to the effect of "the views of these wack jobs, does not represent any of the views of our party, with the exception of Nancy Pelosi, and Barney Frank"

I don't pay attention to Al Sharpton's show, it always puts me to sleep and I can't watch it for more than a minute... but what's so wrong about Rachel Maddow?
