An estimate price on a used drum set with no symbols?

I have no idea about drums, but I really want a drum set. A friend of a friend is willing to sell me his old black drum set for $275, but it has messed up symbols so that price is including the set without the symbols. Is this a reasonable price? I trust them not to rip me off. From what I hear, they're in pretty good condition.
 
I would sell for 200. But 250 is fine. 275 is kinda so they can make a little money. Though Im sure they were worth more.
