I was around 9 when I saw this episode(s) so I can't remember the episode title, and I can't really make out the faces that well in my mind...
This episode (or episodes) involved one of the protagonists being invited to a mansion (or castle) with other detective savvy people, and I think the winner would get the castle or something. Shinichi (or whoever the protagonist was) leaves the dinner table early and fakes his death because he was told to do so from a message.
After that, people started being killed off in ways that are given as hints to the surviving people in the mansion (or castle). One of the guys was killed in bed with a wooden pole staked through his chest!
At the very end, the culprit is caught but the castle catches on fire and one of the detective savvy people, a blonde woman who apparently comes from the same country as the first owner of the castle and who resembles a portrait of a woman in one of the castle rooms, evacuates everyone to a safe room and tells everyone to get down before the fire engulfs the room too.
As the episode ends the protagonist (Shinichi or whoever it was) muses who that blonde was, as the blonde disappeared after the fire...
