An awesome movie trailer - but what was the movie called?

Erm, unless you are the kind of person who would describe a really good hotdog as "awesome" (Eddie Izzard anyone?), then the emotions that this scene could raise fit quite nicely with the proper definition of awesome.

Forget the gore.

Anyone who uses that most inane of modern 'Americanese' phrases, 'awesome!', should be put on a table and disembowelled...

That was my reaction, too. I love horror flicks as much as the next guy, but there's way to many mindless schlock out there at the moment that thinks scantily clad hot chick + gore = horror movie, and more than enough people who will throw away money on such garbage.

matter of opinion, it's my favorite of all modern Americanese, it's an airhead celebration of something terrific which for us brits, is good for the soul, seeing as we spend much of the time moaning/complaining/feeling defeated etc or so seems the national character anyways!

Baah humbug...lol

I hate it.BECAUSE it is a vacuous way of saying something is good. Dont we British have our own phrases?.....

To me, awesome means its proper meaning: that of a spectacle or power almost beyond comprehension, ie, 'the awesome power of the atomic bomb' or the 'awesome spectacle of the universe'

British using American phrases sound invariably like psuedo-Yank prats....

p.s what wrong with moaning....lol

Got us an empire, won us two world wars. Give me a moany Brit over a fake smile American anyday...lol

well I agree, I hate fakery and also despise the way american coporatism means I can't say a word in a job interview except all companies are ****ing wonderful!

stepford ****ing cobblers

but, I still like awesome, though it is somewhat, stoner word and I gave up grass 10 years ago!

ah well!
