Amsoil severe gear

After running Amsoil Severe Gear in the trans. on my 07 EG its whole life and the oil looking brand new whenever I changed it, I noticed now that the oil is a very dark brown. Now let me say that I have just returned from a 3600 mile trip from Central Texas to Sturgis and back pulling a small cargo trailer half way.(Sturgis traffic, stop & go, very hot, pulling trailer up and down mountains) Is this normal color change for oil that really gets a workout or only heat related?
 
Subscribed. I haven't noticed any color change yet but here's my situation. I have an 09 RKC I bought when the 10's were only weeks away from being released. After the 1000 mile break in, I put amsoil severe gear in the tranny and amsoil vtwin 20-50 in the motor. Shortly after I had to go back to the dealer for something minor, can't remember exactly what it was but they had to drain my amsoil out of the tranny and they did not have amsoil so they filled it back up with bel-ray. The clunk was nearly gone and the infamous fifth gear whine was gone. A couple thousand miles ago I went back to amsoil in the tranny when I gave my bike a full service. Now the whine and clunk is louder than it's ever been. I have not gotten to run the severe gear for long enough to have much breakdown or color change but I'm anxious to see what it's going to look like when I drain it again. When I drained the bel-ray, it looked new.
 
Still trying to figure out how one mfg's 75-90 fluid can completely eliminate whine and clunks compared to another mfg's 75-90. Unless it was a different weight = 75-140 maybe?
I changed from 75-90 to 75-140 and noticed it being a little quiter....still have a clunk.

75-90 is 75-90 that's why they call it 75-90
 
With this logic, 75-90 diahrea would work as well 75-90 oil.

Different manufacturers use different additives and bases, ect. That's why there are different types/brands of oil.
 
That's hard to figure for me also. I put Amsoil Severe Gear in my 07 RKC tranny... and the 5th gear chirp went away. Plan on putting it in my new 10 Ultra at 1K miles also.

I had the Amsoil severe gear in my trans for about a week and It did not work for me either. Like 1931Jamesw said the wine was terrible and the clunk was loud when changing gears. I am not impressed with the Amsoil 20w-50 either my valvetrain is too loud I am now using Spectro six speed trans oil and am thinkin about going with Redline or Spectro in the crankcase.
 
I am running Amsoil 20w50 in all 3 holes on a 07 RG From 800 miles & have over 17,000 on it now. I have not had the wine and most of the time the trany never make any noise when shifting . Run 20w50 Amsoil in all the bikes, 05 Low rider, 08 Nightster & 08 Xbones
