ampd v3m on cricket? same as v3c alltel?

hey guys,

can i flash or edit my ampd v3m to work on crickets service? it is a cdma phone, just wondered if there is a way to do it without lose'n the transflash and mp3 player?

i know cricket makes you buy their cell, so if i buy a cheap cell and service from them online, can i call customer service "same day" and activate my ampd v3m?

i saw the post about the alltel v3c monster pack, would i just need to do that? or can i keep my ampd flash on the phone? :doh:
 
There is an 800 nuraber: 1-800-CRICKET. Try calling that and select the menu option to activate a new phone. They'll ask for your ESN, and then associate it with your new account. Once that's done, *228 should work, and I believe *611 will work too.

Since Amp'd went under, I'm going to be trying this same process very soon for my sister, who has an Amp'd RAZR and is looking for a new company to run to.
 
1. you dont have to buy a phone from them to activate a new plan with them and 2. ue the alltel flash as sticked above to keep the mp3 features.
 
all markets in cricket are the same, no contract no deposit. when you get the prl loaded, just dial 611 and make sure you have the ESN of the phone. they will activate it over the phone, tell them your friend gave you a moto razr.

I never take my hacked phones into the store until I activate them. They are sales people, they don't know what they are selling, just that they make money when you buy things.
 
crap, i went into the local cricket outlet and they saidi have to buy one of their phones to activate new service "part of their no deposit pay as u go plan"

on the cricket website as well for my area code, when i try to select a new service, it makes me choose a phone before i can checkout! :o(
 
dealers still make money when you activate your own phone. most likely he didn't know what he was talking about. there are even dealers that specialize in selling and activating flashed phones.
 
If you SID (System ID) is set to 0 that is why you keep getting that Roaming recording.
You need to set your SID to a valid ID in your area EXAMPLE mine is 5027 if i had 0 and dialed 611 from my phone it doesnt know where to point exactly so it picks up a stronger SID. So I have to set it to 5027 in order to dial 611 from my phone.

Your SID is what helps determine if your roaming or not. 5027 is my area go out of state theirs is 3024. It will still roam off 3024 but when i dial 611 i get a romaing message.
 
crap, well i called the 1800 # and got a account setup with this ESN, i reset all the nurabers in the phone to my new #, however i am still haveing the same problems, activation go's to cricket but fails, 611 gives me a roam error, i have no idea how to find out my sid? what shouldi do :o(
 
ok heres the newest prob lol, i flashed the cell completely to a T followed all the steps,

"flashed ampd v3m to a alltel v3m" then did the cricket moRAB,

when i dial 611 it takes me to a verizon menu, asks to enter my cell nuraber, do i need to edit nam or something else to crickets nuraber? im lost

do a search for cricket SID's. i forgot about this, i had to do the same when i kept getting a roaming message. :) you need the SID for your local area and it should work then.
 
ok heres the latest, i called and asked my sid, the lady gave it to me no probs, she also gave me a min nuraber which is diffrent from my cell nuraber, now i just get a busy signal when ever i try to dial anything., *611 calls cricket now, activation still fails....

turns out the foreign lady took my esn down wrong the first time around, all is good! thanks for all the help guys, you guys might want to make a note that the min is diffrent in some areas than your cell nuraber.
