Ampd Hollywood wap and mms not working

Hi I followed the guide for the v3m for getting wap and mms working on ampd hollywood e816 to the letter but some reason not working now. I keep getting cannot resolve hostname error. MMS can't send either everything else works fine but still cannot get data working reloaded razr files in pst and still not working. Could it be a problem with cricket or the phone. Also something weird I noticed phone will rever back to alltel mip have to reset back to cricket razr one! :confused: Any help or suggestions
 
We've had problems with data on the E816s. We could never get MMS or WAP to work without having the Mobile Data Service code (WP0) on the account. Add mobile data and both features start working. We never could figure out why.

Can't help you with the Alltel mip issue. Sorry.
 
yes incoming mms works just can't download. Its like the phone can't establish a data connection. And what is that code you have to put on the account?
 
We just did another one yesterday so I decided to do some experimenting. Once you get the files loaded DO NOT *228 the phone! Manually program it. If you've already *228 the phone, just reload the files (with your MDN) and all should work.

Everytime we hit *228, the MIP reverted back to [email protected] and the MMS file also reverted back to Alltel.

We still had to have the WAP on the account for MMS to work....

Yeah I can confirm on many of the Motorola's you have to have wap on the account or mms won't get past 94%. Never dial *228 or it will mess your settings up, I manually program then dial *228, last configure wap and mms and it works great.
 
I take it you flashed the E816 with Alltel E815 firmware? If not, what am I missing here? Where is the Alltel stuff comming from? If anything I have VZW stuff littering my filesystem. I left my E816 with the amp'D firmware, WAP and MMS worked right the first time after I entered the cricKet websessions. My MIP and 1x username/password would revert to [email protected] (or whatever it was, can't remeraber) after every reboot. *228 worked fine and broke nothing. I have had WAP on my account since you first could get it so I can't tell ya if it caused MMS problems by not having it. All the amp'D BREW content erased itself first time I tried to go to the catalog with cricKet's settings which was fine with me, but BREW still won't work. I think it has to do with BREW version 3.1.x and cricKet not supporting it. I fixed the MIP/1x reverting problem by editing the MIP/1x values to what you want then without reboot or anything edit SEEM 275a - Record 1 - Bytes 260 - ORABet f4 to the value 04. I got this fix from the Verizon Moto Hacking forum.
 
will this work with the alltel v3m as well? i can get normal texts however , i cant dl pics or send, it freezes at 94% or so, then times out an error, any help? thanks
 
yeah, tried it on 2 different flash's on the v3m, followed the guide to a T, others are having the same prob, mms senRAB pics to 97% then times out, "with cricket on ampd v3m/alltel flash"

sorry for the thread jack, cricket has refreshed my mms/pic services about 7 times with no luck
