Amp to power 2 kicker comp 12. amp question?

I am looking at multiple youtube videos of people using 1000 watt amps or higher for these subs. I just ordered them.
The specs:
600 Watt Total Power Handling (300 Watt Each Sub)
RMS Power: 300 Watts Total (150 Watt Each Sub)

How are people using such powerful amps to these subwoofers? Wouldnt they blow? What is a good amp to make these subs hit hard
 
The reason they are able to use them is because the gain on the amp isn't turned all the way up,they are tuned right. Its better to have a bigger amp with more watts then have a smaller amp with less watts.The reason being is the smaller amp is having to work much harder and will shorten its life.The bigger amp is barely turned up and will run more efficient,meaning cleaner sound and longer life. You cant go wrong with Rockford Fosgate.You may spend more money but will be better off in the long run.Hope this helps.
