America's military crown jewel, the F-22A Raptor, will now be given to Israel. *link*

what do you mean by everything covered? If a part goes bad, you open the respective panel and change it out, or is it more complicated than that?
I'm curious if it has a system similar to the hornet that spit out maitenence codes that tell you exactly what's wrong w/ the aircraft, all the way down to specific wires on the cannon plug.

The US sold the F-16 to Israel a couple of years after making it. Who cares? Israel will, just like with the F-16, let us know how it works in combat before we have to.

they get the airframe. BIG WHOOP. They dont get our avionics packages, radar, or weapons platforms.

They get a fake rolex. rolex outsides, seiko insides.

Yes because you pretty much have to remove all the panels to do anything since everything is covered. You can pop the engines out pretty easily though so everything is accessible its just a bitch to remove everything and put it back on.

The composites structures also make it a bitch to fix since you cant simply apply new sheetmetal.
